Makes me wonder if they can resign debrincat when the time comes very soon.

I was legit worried he wouldn't sign before the end of the this upcoming season, and command 10.000+
8.300 is a bargain IMO

I only used signed guys for lower positions like bench. I wouldn't actually expect Boucher to be on the roster for example, but whoever is should make a similar salary.

Great signing unless he just does not improve anymore after putting up ~60 point year last year.

If he ends up being ~80 point guy for most of his 20s, this will age very well with the cap going up.

Anything more than 80ish points this AAV is an absolute bargain for Stützle's entire 20s

you at the very least should already be a ppg player before you get 8x8. so stupid paying him what he hasnt earned and might never be worth.
i've been reading he's pretty much a 100 points player today so this is a huge bargain

Ottawa is committed to a plan of giving big time, currently unearned money to their young stars.

Dorion will either look like a genius an set up Ottawa as Cup contenders for a long time or there’s a chance this completely blows up and they are stuck in purgatory/bottom feeders for the next almost decade with multiple bad contracts.

I’d say it’s worth the gamble… but it’s a hell of a gamble to take.

lol why do you keep saying this like its the sens plan. if he plays out that full contract in ottawa the teams going to resign him to some deal you hate.

Maybe, maybe not.

I hated that they didn't re-sign Karlsson, Stone and Duchene when those players were 27-28. Turns out, that was absolutely the right call.

Realistically, this team will be rebuilding again in 9 years, and I don't expect Stutzle (or Tkachuk or Chabot) to spend their whole careers here.

I care about having them in their primes.

I thought it was just Eugene but Ottawa really loves rolling the dice on those big$, long-term extensions before players have earned them. I've always been in the bridge camp.

That’s gonna huge very nicely

I wouldn’t be surprised if Stutzle hits 85pts next season.

With the cap going up in the next couple of years, this seems like a fine bet. Much better than the Norris one I think.

Curious if they become a cap team or not, they will need to in order to have any chance of fixing the defense. They really should be throwing all the futures to dump Zaitsev and get a legit top four D.

I think that's a great deal for Ottawa. I did not think that with the Chabot, Tkachuk, and Norris contracts. But Stutzle to me looks like he's going to be a 90+ pt guy in a year or two and this would be great value for that.
