shattenkirk makes too much sense.

he's the right handed pmd pp guy who's in his prime and wants to play here. he addresses needs.

1. he can skate
2. he can shoot
3. he can pass
4. he poised and can play the pp
5. he's available.

you go out and get this guy. and then you work on a deal to keep him.

hes 27 yrs old.

mcdonagh and shatty would make a great 1st pair.

move out marc staal.

Why the hell should they trade for Shattenkirk? Sign him for free next off-season. Trade Nash for a young PMD and a prospect, eat some salary. You get the assets + Shattenkirk.

Lets not trade for a guy who could leave in 12 months time. Yandle situation all over again.

This. The organiation has limited assets because of all of the rentals they have brought in. Don't use one of the only movable assets for a guy who could potentially leave next off-season.

Didn't you just say Nash has no value? How does he get you Shattenkirk?

Also, put me in the camp that says if Shattenkirk is getting top-pairing minutes with McDonagh, it's not going to go well. Phenomenal puck mover, but he gets beaten several times a game on the rush despite his skating abilities.

McDonagh - Klein
Staal/Skjei - Shattenkirk

we wait. he's gone. then what ? waiting sounds good but i fear a miserable season in 2016/17 and then does he want to come here at all ?

plus hanks another year older.

if nash and fast gets it done. do it.

nash plus for shatty should work

go get him.

We give up assets for him and he leaves for nothing via free agency. Then what?

We trade for him, he leaves. Then what? It's a transition year. He would understand that.

It's a little high on the AAV for my liking, but not by much. Kid is a monster.

Definitely a little high right now but I love it. I think it's brilliant. Lock up your young stars nice and early.
