We should target Okposo asap. He's that powerfoward, enforcer type which we still lack severely. Plus he is really good at hockey.

Although I doubt he'll sign with the rival team.

Strome, Barzal, etc. They have players to fill those roles

Strome was already on the team last year and the others will take time to develop. Matt Martin was a lynchpin on their NHL Best 4th line (it won't be the same now) and Nielsen was a swiss army knife (basically like us losing Hagelin, but maybe worse for the Isles). BIG losses

Land of no calls..
Well at least the Isles still have a really nice pool of prospects who should be able to help fill the holes. Probably take a step back this year, but maybe they get lucky and Strome gets more of a shot with Okposo out.

Czazikas is really the lynchpin to that line...at least, he's the best player on that line.

Let's hope these absurd contracts make our guys a lot more appealing in trades. Okposo at $7M for 7 years, or Rick Nash for 2 more years with money retained?

It's almost as if the Rangers realize how much the fanbase is chomping at the bit for information and change, so they just release this information to appease the fans.

Basically means, nothing is happening in the short term/immediate horizon.

We swung at the draft and missed.

Crazy that he doesn't have a taker. Teams must be that scared of his past season. He has to produce better this year.

True. Even if he doesn't, fact is he is a top 6 forward. See below:

not crazy.

the rest of the league has eyes too

a team thats close and wants to get over the hump might bite. he's got some sparkle still to a team like that.

dallas, st louis or even nashville come to mind.
