Rosters

Canada released their first 18 players on their roster yesterday. Some of these names were already out there beforehand.

USA is supposed to release theirs some time today apparently. Confirmed names for them so far is:

Yeah I’d imagine that’s someone they’re hoping to hear from. It’s shaping to potentially be a pretty offensively dynamic roster.

If they can Gibson to come that would be huge. I doubt Quick would. Kincaid’s probably another possibility.

The national team coaches didn't ask neither Mrazek, nor Neuvirth to come. Gudas joining the team depends on the medical check, Voracek hasn't expressed dis/interest in joining yet.

David Kaše has suffered a broken index finger and didnt join the national team for the final tournament before the IIHF WHC. He is kept on the preliminary WHC roster however. Jandač povolal dalšího mistra a škrtl tři jména. Proč nechce nejproduktivnějšího hráče play off?

Another Flyers related thing from that article, sort of. Lukáš Krajíček decided not to join the national team and he will focus on his family and league hockey instead. Defensive juggernaut gone :/

Giroux, Konecny and Patrick joining would be massive for Canada.

Jakub Voráček is not joining the Czech national team for the IIHF WHC. He told the coach, quote, "I have played 450+ games in the past 5 years. At this stage of my career, I need a hardworking summer to be ready for the upcoming seasons." (plural)
