So I know Bergevin like simple 1 for 1 trade and I want to keep it simple. Also, I don't mind much about rivalries to be frank as long as both team fill a need. Here is my proposition:

To Montreal :
- Nylander

To Toronto :
- Weber

Nylander can play center pretty well, he is fast, he is in our core age and will act as a piece for our rebuild.
Weber will solidify a lot Toronto D and will act as a mentor to Dermott and Rielly.
No chance in hell do I want the Leafs agreeing to take on Weber and his contract. I don't care if Montreal agreed to retain 50% of it, Weber is still a lot older than Nylander and that's another major reason not to trade for him.

Just like we were a few years ago. Good luck

Nah... we are in a better situation than the decade of misery the Leafs went through. Now if Price don't get back to being Price, we might be in trouble. But that has a lot to do with our bad team D and how we started the year last year.

you mean giveaways...

as i've said before, i think, weber isn't gonna make our blueline amazing so why would we trade nylander for him? its true we need to fix our defense, but trading for weber isn't a good solution because of his age/contract.

I meant Turnovers, french mistake.
you got to explain to me how you don't think Weber is not going to make your blue line WAY better lol ? you really got to watch some of weber highlights, he isn't a "wow" D, he stays silent and quiet while doing an extraordinary job.

Price and Weber are both old, overpaid and on the decline.

Lol at the peoples who says that Weber is on the decline, have you seen him play? By the way he played all his game last season with an injured foot.

i never said he wasn't gonna make our blueline better. i said he wasn't gonna make our blueline amazing. each of our defensive pairs has a weak link (our 2nd pairing has 2) and weber is only 1 defender. he isn't going to make our entire blueline far superior than others.

Don't worry... being told 24 year old Hamilton is too old to trade Nylander for.

As for this trade, doesn't make sense for Leafs at all, but doesn't mean Weber is bad.

Price and Weber are not old. Marleau and Hainsey are old. Weber is not overpaid but Price is.
Absolutely right they are old, Hainsey has a year left and Marleau 2 (Makes 4.5 in his last year) we got them because they are old and we need vets.

Price is overpaid

you're right, he's definitely playing his best hockey in his mid 30s while struggling with injury

I know if I’m the Leafs I don’t do this trade. But I juste hate how peoples like to bash on players like that.

Struggling with injury because he had one bad injury ? The team mismanaged his injury he should have been shutdown for the season with that type of injury. He played over 75 games over the last 10 years except the last season.

Why do the Leafs have to trade their Nylander for an aging Dman with questionable contract. For that 7.8 cap hit that Leafs can sign a UFA (even if not as good as Weber) and keep Nylander. Maybe there aren't many Dmen this summer but maybe next year . Point is Weber is not worth 10% of a teams cap.
Why don't the Habs just keep Weber is his value/contract is that good?

yes, he's struggling with injury if he's been affected for several months now and might not even be ready by training camp
