Without any idea of his contract status, it's impossible to say.

But given Khazheyev is mostly playing in Russian juniors this year (1 game in the VHL, Russia's #2 men's league), I assume he's a few years away.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them sign Velmakin while Khazheyev develops in Russia.

As long as the contract is <=$1.15M they can send Martin down to the AHL without cap penalty.

More likely he clears waivers at the start of the season than later.

Its unlikely Martin accepts a 2 way mid season. So get him with a 1 way deal and waive him. Might help get him through waivers being on a 1 way deal

Given Freddie still has another year, I'm guessing next year will be Freddie/Kooch with Martin as the 3rd
