Forward TOI leaders: Palmieri (20:20), Hall (20:11), Coleman (17:59), Bratt (17:22), Stafford (17:20)
Defense TOI leaders: Greene (25:44), Severson (21:05), Santini (20:29)

Considering the forward situation those actually aren't ridiculous icetimes though I doubt Coleman gets 18 minutes in another game this season.

I keep hearing this, but to me, I think it's the exact opposite. They just need to go out there and play. Stop thinking about what the simple or safe play is and just do what your instincts tell you to.

I feel like a lot of the hockey has been coached out of hockey players in an attempt to replace it with systems. You see the guys trying to process the situation in the context of the system they are supposed to be playing rather than what their instincts are telling them. That slows them down enough to give the other team the advantage. They seemed to just be playing by instinct the first three games. The last two they looked to be trying to "simplify the game" instead of playing the game.

you may be right, but a couple guys seemed to screw that up. mojo and zacha. they were sat and rightly so. if this team wants to do anything it is going to take every single one of them. and someone needs to tell hallsy that its ok, stop trying to be the guy and be part of the team.
the simple fact is that here we are, 5 games in... and there is reason to be excited. just clean up the loose ends.

Wood was the only one under 17 minutes (played 14:04) of the 9 guys who played. Pretty even spread.

Really didn't like how he we played at all, but one thing I'm happy about: Hynes sent a message, and the players heard him. Thats a good sign going forward. Also wish Nico could play the way he played in the opener, but thats just how it works with rooks.

Most important is that the message was sent and the team still won. Hopefully Hynes won't have to do this again.

Coleman has impressed me so far this season. He's got a little Ryan Carter in him.

He has brought it every game. Very pleasantly surprised with him. So much so that I actually fear they start to move him up the lineup. He's a perfect 4th liner, but I don't think he could function well in a top 6.

It was too much. I don't mind the benching, but half the game is nutty. You could've sent the message in 3 or 4 shift and checked for the response.

He tried that early in the second period and they were still crap after they got back out there.

Gibbons is more likely the guy they move up, since he has 4 points in 5 games.

We were screaming last year about the lack of accountability. Guys like Henrique just coasting around for weeks without any penalty. He had no choice because the team was devoid of talent. Getting blown out is not good for morale. Now Hynes has some talent and can take appropriate action without getting drubbed by the other team

Butcher is such a cerebral player....really been liking his game so far, and not just the points.

Santini has also been excellent this season thus far.

Those two guys becoming reliable defensemen would be huge for this team.

Just got home and saw that we won. Can anyone give me a summary??

lets just hope the guys that sat dont go all prima donna on us. benching them was half the battle. its what hynes does now that really matters. needs to tell them that it wasnt personal, just come out next game and show everyone what you got. i would post that gif if i could lol.
