At least we get to play against Pavelec

I wanted Lundqvist.

I'm of the opinion that last year wasnt just an "off year", and that his career's in decline.

He's pushing 36 years old. If he's not on the 18th hole, he's approaching the green.

I don't want to see lovejoy. It's torture.

Tired of Hayes already too.

So I guess we will get both...

Hard to imagine Moore having a worse game than he did last night so no big deal that he’s playing tonight, imho. From all accounts he’s a great team guy and he has some offensive upside, but he’s just a really poor defender and always has been. I’m in the camp that any offense he brings doesn’t come close to making up for his shoddy defense. But it’s not like we have better options sitting because of him so not being scratched for tonight is nothing to get upset over. The defense just needs to improve to a point where he’s not good enough to play on it. It’ll get there eventually.

Rangers are having awful time winning games - they have just scored 11 goals in 5 games despite scoring 5 goals against Leafs

On the other hand NJ is so exciting to watch with some depth upfront, the 1st 3 games were no fluke and this team is going to win a lot of games and is going to challenge for the playoff spot

All the best against your rivals tonight

Moore's very good in OT with acres of open ice, there's no denying that. Other than that, I can live with him or live without him. It would be nice if the Devils can make roster improvements so that it's without.

Moore stinks, but he's better than lovejoy. If we are playing a vet just to play a vet I'd much rather have Moore in than lj.

Good luck tonight. I'd love to see you guys in the playoffs this year and I believe you have a team that can accomplish that. Having exciting teams like yours do well is great for the league

Hynes is talking at 5 apparently, so hopefully we're wrong.

In a nutshell, when he's on the ice with forwards playing fairly in sync, Moore tends to supplement our offense. If we're out of sync most of the game like last night, then Moore gets exposed as a chronic liability on defense.

Hope our forwards and Kinkaid come ready to step up tonight because our D is likely to look real ugly.

No. They got out coached, out game planned, out physical'ed.... it's the problem with the abstract notion of fast and attacking when you run into a team that knows how to shut it down.....this shouldn't even have to be highlighted to a Devil fan, we shutdown "fast and attacking" teams for two decades exactly the way Washington did last night.

Yeah but unlike the teams we shut down back in the day, no one will find any of us saying "Waah! They're using the Trap! WAAAAH! They're using the Trap!".

Here’s to Moore hat tricks until the TDL. I say build the offense around him Hayes and Stafford. Obviously kidding but Moore is what he is and he fits the style of play the coaches and management want to instill so expect to see him in the lineup. He’s flawed but he was a reclamation project that the team hoped would grow defensively. I’ll take him over Lovejoy every day.

There was an article at TSN from BoDog? saying Pete DeBoer will be the first to go, then there was a list and AV isn't even on it? Hynes is on it, but no AV ? I think he will be on the "hot seat" this year
http://www.tsn.ca/bodog-odds-on-deboer-to-be-fired-first-1.882758
Peter DeBoer (SJ) 7/2
Paul Maurice (WIN) 4/1
Doug Weight (NYI) 4/1
Jeff Blashill (DET) 7/1
Jared Bednar (COL) 17/2
Glen Gulutzan (CAL) 12/1
Dave Hakstol (PHI) 12/1
Jon Cooper (TB) 14/1
John Hynes (NJ) 14/1
Barry Trotz (WAS) 14/1
That article is from October 12th, but I think it's funny how Hynes was on there after being 3-0-0 at the time of its release. Perhaps it was written earlier? As for the others, I feel like Trotz could be gone if they don't make it past the second round again. Cooper is probably in trouble, but only if they hit a skid or wind up missing the playoffs in the end. Hakstol is probably gone if they miss the playoffs, maybe earlier. I don't know how Gulutzan can be on the hot seat already. They were a playoff team last year, in spite of below average goaltending, which is also what sunk them single-handedly in the playoffs. They probably will be a playoff team again this year. Not sure about the other guys. Don't even know why Maurice was extended.

Believe it or not, I don't want Pete fired by the Sharks, unless it comes after a GM change. Doug Wilson's time is up, he needs to go. He shouldn't have a job to even make another head coaching hire after this.
