I am amazed by the absolute tear that the Moose have been on lately. What suddenly changed and triggered all of this?

I also want to know what Nikkanen did to suddenly turn into a point per game (and then some) player

Milic

 IDK, maybe the question should be, why was he not scoring - at all - for the first 35 games.

Milic didn't look that hot when he made his debut in the fall but he has certainly improved. Maybe that time in the ECHL did him some good.

And yeah, that is a bit of a mystery re: Nikkanen. His was definitely one of the more epic cold spells that any Moose player has ever been through. Whatever it was, glad to see he finally managed to shake it off.

This year's Moose team is certainly a lot higher scoring than the 2016-17 version that Connor played on.

In 2016-17, there were only 3 players who put up >0.50 p/60: Connor (0.85), Roslovic (0.74) and Dan DeSalvo (who? lol 0.61).

This year so far, there are 9 Moose > 0.50 p/60: Lambert (0.88), Capobianco (0.77), Lucius (0.76 in 17gp), Malott (0.74), AJF (0.74), Chibrikov (0.67), Heinola (0.59), Ford (0.53), Viel (0.53).

The 2016-17 Moose were quite a bit younger as well. 22.75 years on average vs. 23.9 for this year's Moose (at their respective season's start).

Connor's goals/game was 0.48 vs. Lambert's 0.37.

Milic is definitely a big reason for what’s driving the Moose. Players like Mallot, Reichel and AJF have certainly stepped it up.
As for Nikkanen - just hope he keeps it up and that some of his magic can rub off on to Torgersson.
Additionally Heinola has stabilized the defense a lot. What a chaotic mess it was before he returned.

Good deal? I think so!

I watch the away games on AHLTV as its a free perk for Jet season ticket holders. I was thinking of going to the Moose game tonight but I see that for $14.99, I can watch the 9 remaining home games.
(19.99 for the remaining home and away games)

That seems to be money well spent for those interested in the Moose push to the playoffs!

Milic might have just made the save of the year for the Moose.

On the same play the Griffins take a penalty and the Moose score with the goalie pulled. Malott from Lambert and Chibrikov.

One thing I'll say about Lambert, he's always shooting with purpose. Finding lanes and shooting for tips. He's incredibly effective at knowing where to put the puck for Malott to get the tip.

Lambert showing why some question his Hockey IQ on the empty net goal against.

is there a vid

EDIT: found it. seems like he had the right idea and he just got a little careless and misplaced on the puck on the reverse

Yeah that was definitely just a misplay. The pass was there to be made.

Hadn’t looked in on the Moose thread for a while and nice to see they are playing pretty well.
