I would think Mitch would have him in pts/60
5v5

P/60:
Mitch: 2.05
Jack: 1.9

P1/60:
Mitch: 1.5
Jack: 1.5

GS/60:

G/60:

Jack: 0.81

PP:

P/60:
Mitch: 7.34
Jack: 5.98

P1/60:
Mitch: 4.89
Jack: 3.77

Their deployments are basically exactly the same (55-56 ZSR). Marner's on-ice CF60 is higher, and CA60 is lower.

In conclusion, Jack has really not outperformed Marner.

I keep saying in a few years Marner could be the second best player from the 2015 draft class after McDavid and ahead of Eichel.

So you're saying that Marner's gonna get $10,000,000 / year ?

I kid.

Does a bonus kick in for 20 goals?
Yes and no. 20 goals is indeed a performance threshold in the Schedule A bonuses, but Mitch has already hit enough of the thresholds to gain the full $850 000.

On the plus side of things for the club, Matthews' injuries saved them over $2M against the cap.

Sign him this summer. If he plays like this he has a shot at competing for the Art Ross next season.

If 20 goals is the threshold in Marner's Schedule A bonus (likely) than he would receive $212,500 for reaching 20 goals and he may earn an additional $212,500 is he leads the Leafs in scoring at the end of the season ..

Max allowable Performance bonus are $850k max for all.

If this is is trajectory while getting a bit bigger and all that. Looks like he could be the best player on the team as soon as next year. I like to temper that though and just say he is hot right now like JVR.

Tbh all this means to me in real terms is we will be trading Nylander. We just don't have 28m for 3 players and be able to make a good team. It can be done but not at all easily.

This is just the beginning for this kid... The patience he's displaying this year is like a seasoned vet - I'm blown away at how quickly he's learned he can dummy this League with his skating and creativity. He's going to be truly special, and we're already seeing real glimpses of it very early on in his NHL career.

There is no bonus for leading the team in scoring.

Surpassed last seasons goal and points
mark last night.

Amazing considering how he started the season.

IMO you lock him up long term with Matthew and Nylander this summer

Matthews is still the best ... and by a wide margin.
This whole discussion is about #2 ... and how great a pick Mitch was.

I don't agree with this. Marner is proving himself to be the most dynamic player on the team. Yes Matthews is an incredible player and nobody can dispute that but we cannot overstate how good Marner is.

Marner is quarterbacking one of the best powerplay lines in hockey at 21 years old. Matthews does not. Marner drives a line of Veterans 5v5, Matthews does not.

If I were to bet on whom is most likely to get 100 points, my money is on Marner.

I find Marner to be a more consistently electrifying offensive player than Matthews.

Matthews boggles my mind with his smarts, and specifically his awareness of what he can/can't get away with in pretty much any situation. His strength and reach when stripping opponents of the puck is magical, and he does this over all 200' on the ice. When he decides he wants to make someone look silly, you're going to get blown away, but I feel like he picks his spots more frequently, whereas Marner seems to jump into any free lane given to him, and constantly pushes the offense.

They're wildly different players (who I think would complement each other superbly) and comparing them at all (let alone based solely on points) will likely be a fool's errand once they hit their primes.

That has to be a scary thought for the rest of the league. This is year 2!
