What is so great about Caleb Jones, he was a 3rd or 4th rounder, and will likely be nothing more than a 5 or 6 defenceman. If you are lucky, he may be higher, but the chances are, he will be that or less. Every single team, has guys like that, that they hope pan out, and most don't.

Well considering you couldn't be arsed to figure out which round he was drafted...

Jones was a fourth rounder. He has taken leaps and bounds since then. He played #1 defenceman minutes for Team USA this past World Juniors, paired with McAvoy. The kid is the real deal in most Oiler fans eyes and most of us consider him our best prospect after Puljujarvi and Yamamoto.

Is he a lock to be a top 4 guy? No, but barely anyone is a 'lock'. I think there's a very good chance he gets there though. He's got the size, the skating, the aggressiveness, the bloodlines, and plays well in all three zones.

If it helps, most Oiler fans think he's a better bet to be an NHLer one day over the guy that just won WHL defenceman of the Year and ripped up the WHL playoffs, Ethan Bear.
