I believe if he signs an ATO with the Heat, he will be eligible to play in the ahl playoffs, if he signs his ELC and plays an NHL game, he won't be eligible to play in the AHL at all this year.

I'm still tempering my expectations. But anytime you can add a guy that 6'4, can skate, defend, and is efficient with the puck, then that's obviously a positive.

Yeah, I kinda just assumed it was difficult to miss the playoffs in the AHL. I was clearly thinking of the CHL. You can stick a fork in the Heat.

But 9 games is a decent chance for him to get his feet wet. I'm excited.
