Time to bring Pickard up and let him start. Give the team a chance at least.
Why?

Id wait until McelHinney loses, no need to rush, Pickard will get his chance after January to play games with the Leafs.
Marty St Louis wasn't even drafted, TBL were idiots to play him in 1000 gamesWhat is wrong with you two? Pickard passed through waivers. 29 other teams didn't think he'd be enough of an improvement on even their backup that and you're trying to make him a starter? Give your heads a shake.

Yep. I don't love Andersen but he gives us the best chance to win any given night better than anyone in our system by a longshotThe thought of Pickard being any better than Andersen with the amount of high impact scoring chances our D gives up is "the grass is always greener" at its best.
How'd you get he'd be a starter from what I said.
Teams passed on him because it was 2 games into the season and all teams had their goalies and commitments to them set.

Horse pucks. He was passed on by every team because he had just been replaced on an EXPANSION team by Malcom Subban. A goalie with a grand total of 2 NHL games of experience to that point. He was replaced by a rookie. And deemed not good enough to be the back up goalie on a first year expansion team.
Do some research on the Vegas goalie coach. Subban is a work in progress and they like his tool box. That's on Boston not recgnizing it, not on pickard.
One of them not two.So Subban, whom you admit is a work in progress, is worth more than Pickard. Yet the latter should get starts ahead of two bonafide NHL goalies? You've really tripled down on this lunacy.

Single team preference =/= more value. Vegas like the combo of Subban + Lindberg + 6th more than Pickard. Other team weren't willing to upset their goaltending situations to claim him. Those were decisions, time will tell if they were good ones. But Pickard's NHL track record is very similar to that of goalies traded for 1st round picks in the last few years.
The idea that he should start over Andersen is crazy, but your inference on his ability and value based the events surrounding his acquisition is well, simple to put it somewhat politely.
No one was interested when he was on waivers and it didn't take the moon to get him. It's not rocket surgery to realise that he's nowhere close to NHL ready.
Proposal
To TOR:
Louis Domingue
To ARI:
Curtis McElhinney
Louis once had very good potential. He's been a train wreck in Raanta's absence. Probably an elite AHL goalie, though. Gives the Leafs a chance to call up Pickard and give the Marlies a solid replacement. Gives the Yotes a solid, experienced vet to stabilize things a little.
Thoughts?
Never mind. Az just traded a pick for Wedgewood instead.
