The truth is we did not lose because of Yandle. The offensive ineptitude of this team is baffling. They are just positionally stupid. There's a guy battling behind the net with 3 guys and no one else is moving around they are just standing still. I want to just shoot myself.

Agreed. Wingers were watching the game and trying to win battles far too close to the blue line.

They needed to be best and behind the met much more often. Our biggest strength is outnumbering our opponents behind the net.

Funny Yandle leads the team in +/- and 4th in points..... he was brought here for offense not his defense.

No wonder he looks so atrocious cause 95% of the sport is away from the puck

He's been much better offensively in this series, but has not been a difference maker overall to warrant what they gave up for him.

Agreed, and I'm not sure if he brings enough offense to compensate for some of his defensive blunders. That was an egregious turnover to Stamkos last night.

Doesn't Yandle have 5 points this series? If you think he hasn't been good then what do you expect from the guy? Nobody was expecting a Norris trophy winner when we got him...

I didn't realize he has that many points and a good +/- ratings. He's been a turnover machine pretty much every game. Still say he's a Tom Poti and we gave up too much.

If you are gonna ignore all facets of the game besides pure offense, which is a ridiculous notion, then the trade looks even worse considering what we gave up.

And a 1st rounder.

Im not exactly enthralled the team gave that up for a softish offensive defenseman who is a free agent next season.

They have one guy who is sometimes a pmd, and an aging Boyle, in a time where moving the puck on defense is as important as it's ever been. They gave that package up for a 50 point dman at 50% of his cap hit for what should be their best chances at a cup. Moore is a nothing peice at this level, and Duke is still an unknown. The first hurts but realistically it wouldn't have helped in the immediate future to the extent Yandle will.

To go through life thinking yandle is more valuable to the team than dom, hags or fast because Points!!! You cant buy drugs strong enough to lead to that type of delusion

Yandle is not the problem at all - even with his mistakes in this serie.
M. Staal is at 1 pts in 17 playoffs games at -8 in comparison - and I think he has a (none trade clause) on his contract.

Yandle is more valuable because he's a better hockey player.

Make an actual argument if it's so easy.

Offense from the d position is hugely important. Silly insults don't change that.

Are we honestly going to pretend that +\- is a great stat for offensive dmen on teams at the bottom of the league?

You need offense from the back end these days period. Yea ideally it'd only come from guys who are equally good on both sides of the puck - in reality there are a handful of those guys and much more need for pmds.

Which players can you throw over the boards at any time and feel comfortable and which is terrifying? All of those guys have more skin in the game than Yandle.

Yandle is not a "perennial" leader in minus rating for D-men.

He was negative with the Coyotes last year and this year...then positive with the Rangers.
The four seasons prior to 2013-14.... he was +4, +5, +12, & +16.
