Yandle is not a "perennial" leader in minus rating for D-men.

He was negative with the Coyotes last year and this year...then positive with the Rangers.
The four seasons prior to 2013-14.... he was +4, +5, +12, & +16.

What happened the last two seasons to turn those plus into -20s? Was he not with the coyotes those 4 years? You can't argue his minuses were due to the team when it's the same team. He is a key part of team - good or bad. His plus and minuses contibute to the team record. What those stats mean is that his game the last two seasons has deteriorated into the turnover machine that we now own.

That's beside the point. You used the word perennial. Perennial is defined as: lasting or existing for a long or apparently infinite time; enduring or continually recurring

That's clearly not the case with Yandle.

The Coyotes has been god awful the past two season. Look at OEL's +/- this season. +/- on that team the past couple years don't mean anything.

Yep. Even Shane Doan was -29 this season. The last 18 games of the season, Shane went -14...without Keith Yandle. The Coyotes are just not good.

Which players can you throw over the boards at any time and feel comfortable and which is terrifying? All of those guys have more skin in the game than Yandle.

What is this even supposed to mean?

If the argument against him is so clear, just make it instead of these silly subjective hypotheticals and general sports cliches.

If the team needs a goal id more comfortable with Yandle than Girardi, Staal or Klein. It the team is sitting on a lead, the opposite would be true. You need puck moving dmen.

I hope he bag couple of pucks into to the net tonight -
don't be afraid to shoot the puck.

I wouldn't mind if AV put Yandle out as a forward instead of the corpse of MSL.

Too bad AV doesn't even put Yandle out on the PP with our main goalscorer. Mind-boggling.

It is crazy. It's a joke when he finally comes on to pp there's about 25 seconds left on it. What's the damn point? At that point they can't even get back in zone to set up.

That turnover in the last game where he gave the puck to Stamkos right in front of our goal, if that was Girardi or Staal, imagine the reactions. Since its Yandle, its not a big deal since he has a good reputation with the puck. Only the players with bad reputations with the puck can be blamed for making terrible plays.

I'm glad I am not the only who saw that and feel this way. This guy is a turnover machine. I don't think he had to play D while with the yotes. and btw, that was a great great great save by hank.

There was no outrage because the pass was a good pass, the forward drifted away from it (pretty sure it was Hayes) and it went right to Stamkos. It was a stupid play by Hayes, there was nothing wrong with the pass.

Yandle can take a dump in the crease tonight but since he has points in the bag he did his job in the series

Is there any doubt now that Yandle's been the best Ranger defenseman? Throw it on the ******* net and good things happen.

Another quietly good game.

I have no doubt that if AV let him play for the entire PP (and with Nash) he'd take a game over.

Came to this thread to post that exact thing. Yandle was definitely overshadowed by Brass's line tonight, but he was in the background doing what he's been doing all series. Moving the puck & putting shots towards the net. Nice numbers again tonight.

Well, Boyle's been pretty good too.
