What teams are likely to be in on Trouba? I know my Canucks certainly would be. He is exactly what Benning has described as being a need for us.

He would be a monster add for the Canucks and would the upgrade on right side that has been needed for a few seasons now.

Would allow Tanev to drop down to the 3rd paring behind Trouba and Stetcher.

What would the ask be? Probably gets a 7 year deal coming off 50 point season.

What about a package around Virtanen

Not even a rumour, let alone a surprise. Trouba will not likely be in the Jets lineup come fall. Should've been traded three years ago, also wish it happened then because the value would probably have been much better than it would likely be.

Detroit is still my guess as to where he ends up.

Trouba isn't going to be traded for a couple of 2nd round picks. His floor is a 1st and a good prospect, which is the minimum of what he would fetch at the TDL as a rental.

I’ve liked Horvat since I’ve watched him in London.

He's held out before and apparently wants to hand pick his destination. He probably wants to be paid like a top defenseman in the league.

Trouba is a different animal than a Karlsson, Doughty or Burns. He will never match their offensive ability but he brings a solid, 2 way game. He is hard to play against, hits hard, has a great 5v5 game and can play huge minutes.
I would rather pay a 25yr old, 50 point Trouba 7-8mil than Karlsson 11mil. Especially in the cap era
