If you wanna talk about burned out right wings in Anaheim...

Honestly, if you want to talk immediate holes, RHD isn't even really one of them. Montour thrived under increased ice time in the last few games of the regular season and the playoffs, so he's solidly in our top 4 now.

We just need to get younger and faster up front. Trading Silfverberg doesn't really accomplish that.

STL would probably have interest. Sammy Blais and their 2nd this year? The Winnipeg 1st could be on the table depending on if its used in another deal or not.

Love Silfverberg and would fit a big need for the Blues, but not really sure what his value would be with 1 year remaining on his deal.

Unless Anaheim is trying to clear cap space or start a rebuild, they shouldn't take futures for Silfverberg. They need proven players who can play right away.

So a hockey trade like Vatanen for Henrique? Maybe. I'd be good with futures though. Ducks have internal options for the top 9.

The point of moving Silfverberg would be if we don’t think we’ll extend him and we don’t want to lose him in FA, and we think one of our prospects (Terry hopefully) can take his spot in the lineup.

I think it's entirely dependent on his willingness to re-sign. Even if Terry comes up and proves himself, the Ducks could really use that depth up front. Right now, you're liking at a declining Perry, Rakell, Cogliano, Silfverberg, Kase, and Ritchie in the top nine. They could definitely use some internal competition from a young player to give them some flexibility while also not relying on Perry to stop declining, Silfverberg to not leave, and both Kase and Ritchie solidifying themselves in their current roles. If they can't get Silfverberg to re-sign, they have to move him this off-season and take a huge run at Kane.

Flames could most definitely use him, a right handed RW, oh boy. He also torches us and looks dangerous in every game he plays against us.

Don't think the Ducks would trade him to us though, and the Flames from an asset POV doesn't make sense (all we got is fairly good d prospects).

Not sure how Id feel about this but would have to be something around Bennett and a 1st.

not happening. Bennett might get traded this offseason but there is simply no way the difference between him and silv is a first. I certainly think Silvf has slightly more value, even though Bennett plays a really hardnosed game and still has lots of potential, but hard pass on a 1st

Eh, even if they don't think they can re-sign him they're better to wait and get a 1st at the TDL after they're sure Terry or whoever is actually ready for NHL ice. The very last thing we need is to roll into November and realize "hey none of these guys are actually ready but we have no other options because we traded Silfvy off already. Oopsie"

Even then the only way I see the Ducks doing that is if it's looking like they won't make the playoffs. Using up the final year of his deal in a playoff run is going to be more valuable than what would be coming back in return, even in the summer. Teams usually pay a premium to rent players as reliable as he is in the postseason, so if you already have someone like that in the system it's better to load up and let him walk in the summer.

Exactly. Waiting we have options. Doing it now is selling low unnecessarily, with a really high potential for it to screw us badly come next season. He didn't look great this season, but half of that was playing with the corpse of Ryan Kesler. Once Kes is fully recovered from his hip surgery its possible that line recovers some of its magic and then it's a whole different ballgame.

Somebody offering a big overpay now would be another story and something to be looked at, but I don't see any of that happening here.

Unless the Ducks can find a way to unload Perry, then they can only afford to resign one of Henrique or Silfverberg (not both). Silfverberg had a down year, probably in part because he played with bad centers on a line with a defensive role (IF Kesler returns to form, that will change).

I think the ducks prefer to keep henrique because of his versatility (center or wing). Given that a retool is in order, Silfverberg is the piece that has a lot of value to bring back younger assets. They can't afford to lose him for nothing. It would hurt, but he's a likely piece to go.
