The Czech Condor
my theory on darling is that he's being evaluated as a buyout candidate in these lame duck games. the pretense of having playoff hopes is really more smoke. i think the writing on the wall when florida started to heat up was too obvious to ignore. the larger agenda would dictate that if he can't show us *anything* in these remaining games, he's going to be bought out. as we'd all likely guess, that's a painful financial reality and one that the organization doesn't want to have to see come to fruition. so they're doing everything in their power to provide him an opportunity to play his way out of this funk so they can at least say their due diligence was completed. it's obviously not going the way we hoped. it's equally pointless to ride cam ward into the dirt especially if you have plans to retain his services next season. i don't think peters could look into a camera and say darling gives us the best chance to win games, but sometimes winning games today isn't as important as determining who can help us moving forward. this is a grand scale embarrassment and a costly one at that.
