New Game Mode - Arena

You're given 3 random heroes to choose from (for 45 seconds), then select an heroic and join the fray. Players can have the same hero!
Will have specific maps for it. They showed maps that seem to be related to the current themes (Dragon Shire, Garden of Terror, Sky Temple).
Still in development - no ETA.
You're given a random hero, chose an heroic, and are thrown into a 5 minute non-stop fight built around a single map objective, played in rounds in a "best of 3" format.
Every round the Layout of the map changes!
Healing from the Hall of the Storm is instantaneous, and Death Timers are shorter.


New Battleground - Towers of Doom

Seems to be a Halloween themed battleground.
When you destroy enemy towns, they become yours!


New Heroes

Genn Greymane - seems to be capable of fighting as both melee (Werewolf form) and ranged (firearm).
Lunara - Dryad ranged hero.
Cho'Gall - 1 hero controlled by TWO players!!!


Players who attended Blizzcon or bought a Virtual Ticket will get Cho'gall for free.
If you party up and play 2 games with someone who does not have Cho'gall, they will unlock the hero for free as well.
If you play 4 games as Cho'gall with someone else, you will get bonus gold!
New Skins and Mounts!

There seems to be a few Halloween themed skins - for Arthas, Brightwing, Sylvanas, Greymane and Cho'Gall.
Lunara seems to have an Armored Night-Elf Lunara skin.

^Cool. I kinda went the opposite of you. I had been playing Heroes a ton then started playing Hearthstone and its all I've really played recently. I really enjoy both.

so lately ive been playing vs AI just to get to grips with the game again, and to get a few Heroes to level 5 for gold

played a Quick Match today. was playing as Sgt Hammer and we were against Zeratul, Jaina, Kael'Thas, Kerrigan and Malfurion. natually im thinking we will probably win cause its a poor comp, but I will die alot cause 4 assassins vs Hammer lol

ended up winning in a landslide. I had 18 takedowns (next best was our Raynor at 18), 120,000 Siege Damage (2nd Raynor again 85k) and 70,000 Hero Damage (2nd only to their Kael'Thas who had like 200 more

I only had 1 death because they finally sent Kael, Zeratul and Jaina round the back of me during a push

I'm usually playing in a party of 2-3 but most recently we got into TL and it's been a blast. I like the strategic aspect of TL as you have to consider opponents' picks and the map as well as your own team and players' strengths and weaknesses with certain heroes and maps.

yeah cool ill hit you up some time. just remember I still make some mistakes, but I feel like im smarter than the people im getting QM's with who are all like Profile Rank 6-10

the Hero Draft does look really cool and interesting. cant wait to get involved. sadly Leagues are still locked for me as im profile rank 21. I have enough heroes though. just bought the Starter Bundle cause that value!

Meh. What heroes where you playing as? Any characters with a % based attack can take him down swiftly (think Blood for Blood, Seven Sided Strike, etc). Hunter's Mark (Tyrande) is also really useful. The Butcher can actually hang toe-to-toe with Cho'Gall for a while, thanks to Butcher's Brand. Stuns in general do pretty well, because you're effectively getting two stuns for the price of one.

Cho'Gall will be a good surprise in quick match, but I really don't think you'll see him much in competitive play.

I was Raynor and my friend (rank 1) was Kael'Thas. Cho'Gall absolutely butchered us even though we were both level 4 I think.

You're right about The Butcher though. Managed to kill him a few times fairly easily last night while playing with The Butcher. Sonya also works pretty well against him.

You definitely have to strategize around him in HL. He only occupies one lane, albeit as two heroes in one. So coverage on a large map can be difficult.

I see they're having a 2 week 50% off everything sale. I might buy a few of the heroes I dont have yet. Butcher etc. I also really like Leoric but only tried him in practice mode

ill probably buy Artanis too and just hope he gets buffed hah

also bought a 1 week stimpack, reason being im really close to profile rank 25 which removes talent gating (its coming in a patch soon anyway but yeah) which will help with all the new heroes I have

Lunara seems pretty cool. only used her in Try, ill buy her next week while the sale is still on. grinding gold for Greymane atm

speaking of which, managed to use the bug that lets you play Greymane in Try Hero mode the first time you launch after the patch. hes SUPER fun. I cant wait to play with him more. I played over an hour just testing different builds. there are so many ways to build him due to his dual-nature. I can see him becoming one of my favourite Heroes

bought Lunara. shes actually surprisingly fun. Cruel Spores at lvl 1 gives you some really solid wave clear and Leaping Strike is a super good assassination skill, especially when buffed at lvl 20

new Heroes announced, Li-Ming (D3 Wizard) and Xul (D2 Necro)

Li-Ming is a ranged caster assassin, focused on low cooldowns. Her base abilities have low CD and every takedown resets her CDs. she also has a low CD low range blink as her E

Xul is a melee specialist built around raising dead minions as skeletal warriors. apparently you can build hard around this trait and if you do they can become very annoying
