It's the set up episode to a record setting outdoor show in Canada. Follow the WWF through the summer of 1986 on the way to the largest attendance at a wrestling show in history (to that point). There's so much happening that we can't even mention it all including: Gene on the hunt for the Machines, heel vs heel tag team matches, Savage defends his IC title against Mr Wonderful and Geoff coins the phrase for some new "patented" wrestling terms.
Note: "The Clothesline Heard Around the World" is such a large story line that it deserved it's own episode. We'll be releasing the Hogan/Orndorff saga separately on our Patreon channel!

I loved The Machines!

Super Machine, Big Machine, Giant Machine and the rare Hulk Machine and Piper Machine.

Too bad we'll never know who they really were! :sarcasm:

Heenan is still waiting for Jack Tunney to check under the masks backstage.
My favorite part was Heenan on Prime Time complaining to Gorilla that it is clearly Andre the Giant. Monsoon with a total straight face says "how can you lie?".
Gene walking the streets of Tokyo to find the machines was also pretty funny.

That's what made the Machines so entertaining is the commentators and refs would play it straight as though they we're really mysterious athletes from Japan.

Then the heel managers like Heenan would act like everyone was crazy.

Here's a You Tube vid of the rare Piper Machine.

Clearly, The Machines were athletes from Japan. :sarcasm:

However, there were rumors that the following wrestlers were under those masks.

Big Machine : Blackjack Mulligan

Giant Machine : Andre the Giant

Hulk Machine : Hulk Hogan

Piper Machine : Rowdy Roddy Piper

The WWF Big Event Part 2 is out now.
Possibly the peak of Paul Orndorff's career and a Canadian show that set the attendance record at the time to boot.

It's the set up to the October 4th, 1986 SNME broadcast. We track a busy summer for the British Bulldogs, including an impossible match against Studd & Bundy. Hogan defends against Adonis and Mr #1derful has his sights set on the champs belt. Roddy Piper returns and the slow build feud with Adonis boils over in the fall. The debut of the mailbag and more...

It's SNME VII (Oct 4/86). Jesse's back and so is Saturday Night's Main Event! The fall of 86 sees the continuation of the Hogan/Piper feud, an all new Rowdy Roddy Piper and the British Bulldogs defend their titles against their greatest rivals in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Oh... and there's dragons, like real dragons... or at least mini crocodiles or something. Don't miss it!

It's the set up show for the November 86 SNME! We follow a babyface Honky Tonk Man, the rise of an evil ref and Piper is on the trail to get revenge against Orton and Muraco but a returning Adrian Adonis may have something to say about that. Business picks up as the Bulldogs and Hart Foundation enter a new stage of their rivalry.

It's a heel Jake the Snake Roberts challenging a heel Macho Man Randy Savage for the IC belt. Hogan goes to war with a demi-god and Piper and Orton collide in a battle of best friends. The Killer Bees and Hart Foundation make their SNME debuts as part of an action packed card. Tune in to the show because "THIS IS WHERE THE POWER LIES!!!"

My two favorite parts of this episode.

At the beginning when Macho Man was cutting a promo on Jake the Snake Roberts telling Mean Gene he was going to "make a Jake-skin belt!"

The second was the "face" Killer Bees using masks to cheat a victory against the "heel" Hart Foundation with Jessie the Body Ventura's commentary!

Sad news for those who watched the AWA on CKND in the late 70's early 80's.

Summer may be over for real but things are just heating up at the Legendary Wrestling Obsession podcast. We track a handful of hot feuds as JCP storms towards their second season of "Bash" cards in arenas and stadiums around the country. Ric Flair and the Horsemen try to eliminate Ricky Morton, Magnum TA and Nikita are on a collision course for the United States title, at the same time the Russians and Road Warriors aren't done with each other, the Midnight Express has a ton of trouble with the James Boys and the Horsemen do the unthinkable... they lay out the Road Warriors. This all culminates with the July 1st main event of Flair vs Hawk! The first of 14 scheduled title defences for the tour.

The wrap up of the Flair/Morton feud leads us to a stadium show on July 5th. The NWA's Great American Bash is in full swing and it's the biggest night in the singles career of Ricky Morton. The Midnight Express & Jim Cornette take on Dusty, Magnum and Baby Doll in a cage & the Road Warriors & Russians face off in a double chain match. All of that and much more including a tribute to the late Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie & Geoff redefines comedy with a commercial for the ages.

We peel back the curtain to release the first of our Patreon exclusive episodes. It's the follow up to "Growing Up AWA Part 1". The show largely covers and expands on items discussed in the first episode (we recommend you go back and listen to Part 1 if you haven't already). The episode also covers Corey and Geoff's experience at the live AEW Winnipeg show back in March of this year.
