If they get Ekholm they can slide Weegar into his natural RD spot and roll with Ekholm-Weegar... don't think that will be much of a drop off from having Ekblad there if they have good synergy.

Then when Ekblad comes back

Weegar-Ekblad
Ekholm-Stralman
Yandle-Gudas

Come on, no Ekholm-Ekblad pairing? ;)

Ekholm or Ellis. Nashville would need to fall out of a playoff spot by the deadline for that though one would think.

I guess that a Dumba trade is dependent on whether Suter wants to waive his NMC or not, rather than whether Minnesota is in the playoffs or not. If Suter waives, there's no need to deal Dumba.

I agree with you. It's not a wise choice to trade dumba than lose Carson soucy in expansion

Just like that Minnesota is down 2 top 4d. We saw what loosing soucy, & dumba did to wild vs. Colorado

Nice try :sarcasm: ...At least he munches minutes and there's only 3 years remaining on that contract. Benning gave a bad AAV but it also wasn't as long as it could've been.

Myers has like the worst WAR of any regular NHL defenseman this year, lol. At least it's "only" 5 years @ $6 million.

WAR aside, being a healthy right-handed horse that can munch minutes has value in this league, even if said horse is a tad on the dumb side. Not 5 years @ $6M worth of value, but still...it's not Loui Eriksson bad.

Before Ekblad injury and Stralman isn’t able to play as much as before.

Our first plus all prospects not named Lundell or Knight are in play.
Okay. That doesn't mean that he's gone though. With him still there, you've got him, Weegar and Gudas as right shot Dmen with Nutivaara capable of playing on his offhand.

I'd think that the market for top pairing LHD is probably a little deeper. A guy like Goligoski probably covers that hole a little better than a Vatanen or a Montour.

Florida trades its 2nd rd pick To the Devils for Sami Varanen 50% retained and Devils 3rd from Arizona. So The panthers trade down and get a Defender eho can play RD..When EK is available

Munching minutes that you're terrible in isn't an asset.

He's like...one notch better than Loui in the bad contract category.

Pretend all you want, but you don't recover from loss of a #1 dman. Their season is over. They just don't know it yet.

Montour or Ristolainen? Montour will be UFA this summer, Risto with one more season left on his deal at a $5.4M AAV.

They have enough of a gap between them and 5th place. They will make the playoffs, but their dreams of a long run are gone unless Bobrovksy goes god mode out of nowhere.
