As of tonight Marner has 19 goals, 40 assists for 59 points and Drouin has 11 goals, 26 assists for 37 points. So the obvious and clear answer is Marner.
You have to remember that the team plays a part in overall points. T.O is top 5 in GF, whereas MTL is bottom 5 in GF. Their respective top-9 and the quality of teammates. The points are separated by a wide margin, not to discredit such, but Marner and Drouin are closer than it appears.

Just a couple points to counter this: Marner is two years younger and as for quality of teammates Marner spent the majority of this year playing with either Bozak / JVR which was a horrible match or in the dog house on the 4th line. As soon as he was moved with Kadri the results have been explosive.

Maybe this poll should be Drouin vs. Connor Brown?

Seriously. Brown will score more than Drouin this year, but at least it's close.

MUCH better comparison.

I agree that Montreal is pretty dysfunctional and that will impact drouin. and that it probably makes that gap appear larger than it might be. but its still a pretty wide gap.

Marner drives whatever lines offense he's on and is a PP quarterback on one of the best units in the league. He's a key reason why they are top 5 in GF.

Ah yes, and Leafs fans looked at Nylanders and Matthews production after 12 games and anointed them as 80/100pt scorers - truly shocking that their PPG's went down as the season went on - who could've predicted that!

Matthews gpg is 0.53 and ppg is 0.94....

last draft + 2 guy who was anywhere close to both of those?
gotta go back 10 years to sid, geno,ov etc. and now this year its am34 and laine doing it

I bet you were one of the "marner is on pace for 9g/40pts" guys werent you?

And Drouin played on tampa last year, with a huge chunk of that time on a PP with kucherov and hedman...and marner still outscored him

I get the habs angle. they are awful. but drouin had every opportunity to succeed in tampa (included a nice stint on a line with stamkos and kucherov!) and the best he could muster was one solid 53pt year....which marner will crush AGAIN this year.

this is marner and not close. the poll is close and thats beyond hilarious

Drouin was played with 3rd liners in Tampa mostly it's an easy argument as to why most of his points were power play.

oh yeah?
last year he managed 17:42/night on the 3rd line?

Marner plays 16:07/night. there is literally no way to justify Drouin not producing as much as Marner last year on the lightning

but wit, the elias petterson nucks fan guy said the opposite. marner is soft, and doesnt drive a line unlike drouin....

Drouin is HIGHLY overrated. This is easily Marner

I watched Marner tonight and you can see HUGE skill just a matter of getting his confidence back. You can see he needs the confidence back and he is gonna be killer again for the Leafs. Just people gotta be patient right now IMO
Looks like I was right

Marner is the money :yo:
