Just leave this here. I know he is only an AGM but what he and Ray have done together is important to where we are and Im glad he sticking around for the time being.

That aside it seems like a lot of guys are pulling out of the Carolina search already. I know it's problematic to change jobs in-season but some of it could also be cause of the Canes' new owner scaring candidates off.

I'd go with Kinkaid against the Kings. He's only allowed 1 goal against them in 161 minutes. Also, his numbers against the Ducks are terrible (he's given up 12 goals against them in 145 minutes). Give Cory the Sunday game and hopefully he can finally break his losing streak.

Yuck. Definitely give Cory the Ducks game.

DEFENSEMAN Sami Vatanen - 46 games, 26 points

Uhh....All that's saying is that the Trade worked out for both teams. What's there to hate on? :dunno::dunno::dunno:

But his first dozen games sucked so he sucks and he’s probably tired
His first 25 were rocky. He was collecting assist but he was not playing strong defense. His first dozen were bad his next dozen were shaky. He has only played 46 games here. The majority of his points have come rececently and this has been what made people go ga-ga.

In his last 13 games he had 13 points. 2 goals and 11 assist . 0 +/-. That's half of his points in 13 of 46 games...this is classic "Man of the hour". Cause no one was saying this stuff a month ago.

Espn did their final power rankings and the theme was “farewell tour” and what player the team could try to win the Cup for in a farewell season. The player they picked for the Devils was.... “Ryan Clowes cap hit” .

Oh yeah, that sounds a lot like what's happening here.

We've already heard rumblings of the owner wanting a ''Figurehead'' type GM, that will be a puppet for him.

They're probably gonna wind up having a Pierre Dorion type, who takes the job just to take the job and pay. I don't think anyone noteworthy is gonna want that job if they don't have full autonomy there.

No matter how you want to slice it, he is showing a lot of improvement , and you will most definitely agree that games right now are harder than they were back in December or January and he has risen to the occasion.

Now, you're simply being a hypocrite. How can you like Severson game and not like Vatanen's? Vatanen is going against the best players on the other team, playing ALL situations and producing. Severson was placed against the best line on the other side, and he got demolished. I think what you hate about Vatanen is that Severson is supposed to be that guy, but he hasn't been able to step up. It's like you're insecure about that whole situation.

I don't really care about points by a defenseman. Vatanen has stablized the defense. With Greene and Santini on the ice, the Devils were getting 44% of the shots, with Vatanen and Greene, they get 50%. Part of that is going to be score effects, but it can't be denied how much he's helped.

Hmmm...this sounds exactly like Keith Kinkaid, who pretty much sucked up until about a month ago. Maybe we should use the totality of the season rather than selective sample sizes to judge players?

Zajac is a real beanpole looking dude when you see him without his gear. When he did that segment with Bryce and Kenny a couple weeks ago wearing the track suit, he almost looked like one of the women's players, if you didn't see his face, just because of his very petite figure.

Nico is going to end up with a very similar frame most likely
I think he currently has that frame right now, but can build onto it. I wonder what's Trav's weight was in his college days or when he was 18-19?

I swear he was listed as 210-215 pounds about 3-5 years ago. These days he's listed as 6 foot 3 and 185 pounds (some listings are 6 foot 2), while Nico is 6 foot 1 and 175 pounds. I think 5 pounds per inch is the closest estimation, though that also doesn't take into account things like body fat percentage. So they're probably a similar frame right now. I think Nico could top out around 185-190. I wouldn't be surprised if he's up to 180-182 by training camp next year, when the official weights are taken.

Jacob Josefson always struck me as a pretty smaller frame, but he's listed as 6 foot 0, 196 pounds. I'd bet he was probably a good 15 pounds lighter when he came over back in 2010 and was only 19.

Zajac was listed at 205-210 in college, so he's actually leaner now than he was back then. Also, his bad haircuts have apparently always been a thing.
