Again, Hyman and Kane are solid players, but are both truly needed? Oilers would still be scoring a ton even if one of them weren't on the team. Again, you lot aren't losing because of offence, however, replacing Ceci with somebody that is superior with the Hyman/Kane money would be a step in the right direction. Oilers blame their entire problems on two players, Nurse and goaltending, and that just doesn't cut it because it takes a lot more to be swept by the Avs and lose to freakin' Hill in next year's series.

We can come to a heartfelt understanding about each other and our love around a bowl of bigos.
Yes. Yes they are. Without Hyman and Kane, our wingers depth is:
- one of Draisaitl or Nuge, depending on Woody's strategy
- Warren Foegele
- Derek Ryan
- Dylan Holloway
- Raphael Lavoie

So yes, Hyman and Kane are needed, and both are on good deals for their production. If anything, we need to add another winger.

Detroit must really like kostin. Essentially paying him his own contract + Yamamotos buyout money to acquire him.

Looks like it cost them about 1m to buyout yamo over 2 years. And will probably pay kostin about 1.5-1.75m X 2yr.

So effectively Detroit felt kostin was worth about 2-2.25m per year

So you don't believe in McDavid and Draisaitl's ability to make lower-end players better as Crosby has been doing his entire career?

Yzerman doing Holland a solid. Yamamoto was pretty much a AHL player by the end of last year making too much money and Kostin is a decent btm 6 but hasnt found the consistency to be considered a 3rd liner

Not having to pay to get rid of Yamamoto was pretty nice by Yzerman even with Kostin involved the way GMs are guarding cap space. Good to have old friends
Wait, yesterday the reaction of many posters was that the Wings got a steal here....2 first rounders for nothing or something like that :D

Or they felt the 4th / 5th round draft pick it would cost to acquire him was worth 1M. Everyone seems to be forgetting that part.

Not an OR because if they felt the 5th round pick was worth 1m, and they were willing to pay a 5th, then they think he is worth that 1m. Zzzz

No. But with the logic hoops you're jumping through I can see a rebuttal is pointless.

Is Kostin just trying to hardball everybody? Seems like he's on his way home.
