Really surprising that Rødovre could win two in a row, and that also Esbjerg and Odense got a win.
As you say when goalkeepers rise to the occasion even an outshot team can win.
Herlev only lost 1-0 third game, so by far the closest they have been against Herning.

About the match-fixing case it was Mustukovs that apparently thought it inappropriate that backup goalie Dennis Jensen had advised him to "throw" some matches and went to the coach.
So in my opinion he made the right choice as a professional.

Really a big boy move. Must have been a tough decision when it's your competitor in goal.

Tonight's results:

Herlev-Herning: 2-5(Herning wins the series 4-0)
Esbjerg-SønderjyskE: 1-2(SønderjyskE leads the series 3-1)
Odense-Frederikshavn: 3-6(Frederikshavn leads the series 3-1) - Odense scored 3 goals on 14 shots. Doesn't sound impressive.
Rødovre-Aalborg: 0-1(Series tied at 2-2)

I think if Dennis Jensen only betted for the team to win it would have been tough call whether to rapport it or not, but when he is playing against the team and actually "throw" matches I think it's a no-brainer. But still takes guts to be the first man out and say it.
But a team-mate that works to make the team lose it not a teammate!

Seems like SønderjydskE got way more trouble with Esbjerg than they had calculated with.
Otherwise again close between Rødovre and Aalborg.
Michael Smidt became the Rødovre's "Bull of the year" - (Herbert Knox prize)! Probably hard to argue against that.

All the favourite teams were back in business.

SønderjydskE - Esbjerg: 5-1 [Shots 41-12, so in this game Esbjerg was totally dominated]
Series: 4-1 SønderjydskE to semis

Frederikshavn - Odense: 8-3 [Shots 29-31, with better goalkeeping Odense would actually have been more in this game]
Series: 4-1 Frederikshavn to semis

Aalborg - Rødovre: 3-1 [Shots 20-25, that home 0-1 defeat last game really hurts Rødovre now; but they are still in there and keeping every game tight]
Series: 3-2

It is...well it couldnt get any worse with the poor coverage from Viasat. I'm hoping to see a wider platform in which we as viewers can decide what we want to watch instead of just one game per week. Maybe not next year, but in the near future. A bit like Viasats streaming of NHL.

Wouldn't expect anything big at first. At Viasat the math was that they needed 25.000 viewers to make the production of one game(Taking up the man power of 25) earn it self home... and they only got 10.000 in average - I think(Not sure). So perhaps TV2 has better luck with it. Hope so :)

Baby steps guys, baby steps.

Wonder if TV2 has noticed the incline in hockey related news on Danish web news pages.

In think Odense stands the best - and perhaps only - chance of an upset. Rødovre perhaps with some luck( =Sebastian Dahm having 3-4 games of his life + 1-2 good games).

This guy just shows up in the playoffs! Sebastian Dahm might be the deciding factor if Rødovre are to win on friday. What a game it's gonna be. At least we got a game 7 somewhere :handclap:

Let's see if Dahm can show up one more time!
Either way Rødovre has outperformed every expectation one had beforehand.

It can seriously not come as a surprise and exceed every expectation....Rødovre do this every year. I love it :yo:

So why is there no thread on the supposed joining to the KHL of VÃ¥lerenga?

Looks like Both Norway and Denmark are trying to promote Hockey a bit more recently.

Aalborg took game 7 with a 2-0 victory. Semis will be:
SønderjyskE - Aalborg
Herning - Frederikshavn

Aalborg-Rødovre: 2-0 [Shots 31-22, Bjarke Møller with 1G 1A, what a season for him - first fired because of injury, then taken back perhaps after general moral indignation from fans and media and now saving Aalborg].

Sad for Rødovre that really fought hard to make yet another big surprise!

As for semis SønderjydskE are the big favourites against a tired Aalborg and I think also Herning will beat Frederikshavn, but that semi might be more even!

We are waiting for some Norwegian to post it a thread ?

Anyways you had the Stavanger rumour that turned out to be premature.
The VÃ¥lerenga seems more legit, but I'm still somewhat skeptical if this is not another media stunt?
Perhaps it's another feeler with the KHL - so basically a preliminary one.
Then again it could be the real deal - but then it's about which Norwegian club that can raise the money fastest from private investors.

Denmark should stay out of KHL for now as our league are struggling enough. Hopefully we can get teams growing in central Copenhagen and Ã…rhus as they take their babysteps at the moment.
More danish league on TV is the way to go, so KHL is lightyears away.

Semifinals became two big wins - the first more expected the second not.

SønderjydskE -*Aalborg: 7-2 [Shots 31-14, so either Aalborg is really tired or SønderjydskE is so much better !]

Herning - Frederikshavn: 6-2 [Shots equal here 32-31].

Brad Gratton will coach Odense next year(Buuuh) but his seat will be filled by Jesper motherf*in Duus! The Clint Eastwood of Danish hockey is back!

Great news for Rødovre. Jesper Duus could always be a playing coach if they have the same kind of d-man injury galore as this season :sarcasm:

Otherwise SønderjydskE is cruising towards the final with another win:

4-1 over Aalborg [Shots 27-23 - Thomas Spelling is 4G 1A the last two matches].

In the 1'st division the final is between Hvidovre (amateur version of last years defunct Copenhagen Hockey) versus Gentofte:
Hvidovre won 2-1 after a shootout. 1000 spectators is actually really really good for a 1'st division match!

Second game in the semi Herning - Frederikshavn became a much closer affair.

Herning won 2-1 in overtime, but the shots was 36-21 in Frederikshavn's favour.
Frederikshavn can take the positive from this game that they actually can outshoot Herning, but this defeat must really hurt. (Apparently Frederikshavn had four 5-on-3 power plays without scoring - their only goal was on a 5-on-4 PP)

In the 1'st division final it was time for the second game:

Gentofte - Hvidovre: 8-3
So 1-1 in matches so far.

So Jutland rule professional hockey and Copenhagen the amateur one.

So the third matches of the semi's both went to the favourites.

SønderjydskE - Aalborg: 5-1 [Shots 26-21].

Herning - Frederikshavn: 4-1 [Shots 22-25, Frederikshavn outshot Herning again, but only scored 1 goal again]

Both series are 3-0 and probably soon to be 4-0.

So the semis are over. Two 4-0 series wins for SønderjydskE and Herning, which is not really unexpected.
The final between these two teams should be interesting if Herning can continue that defense and goalkeeping while being very effective up front. SønderjydskE is still the favourite though.

Aalborg - SønderjydskE: 1-4 [Shots 23-30]

Frederikshavn - Herning: 2-4 [Shots 26-21; Frederikshavn again with more shots than Herning but losing nontheless].

Nerdy PS: If someone wondered why I always write SønderjydskE its just to be deliberate oppositional. Until 1955 both Jysk and Jydsk were correct spellings. [if anyone are attracted to even older Danish it's "jutsk"].

Just to update on the division 1 final.

Hvidovre won the fourth match over Gentofte with 5-2, so it will be decided in the final fifth game.
All four matches has been won by the home team, so Gentofte should be a small favourite as they have home ice in the decider, that will be played tonight.

Bronze matches in the Danish league was played over two matches.

First match: Frederikshavn-Aalborg: 8-4 [Shots 39-17 !]
Second match: Aalborg - Frederikshavn: 4-4 [Shots 33-29].
Frederikshavn wins bronze.

Finals will be best-of-7 and have been surprising so far in that Herning have won twice:

SønderjydskE - Herning: 3-4 [Overtime win, shots 25-32]
Herning - SønderjydskE: 3-1 [Shots 18-25]

But it still is very evenly matched teams and could still turn around.
Series 2-0 Herning.
