Brown could easily fetch a late 1st at the deadline.

A 1st from the Oilers top 10 protected is fair value.

I was curious if it involved Yamamoto as he could be a piece we use in a deal to get a Dman. Either him of Formenton, who Yam could replace.

If not him then I hope it's prospects or picks only.

If he would fetch that at the deadline then presumably Edmonton has to pay more to get him for the full season.

Maybe. Deadline prices are always a little inflated, plus teams are more willing to move 1sts because they have a better idea of where they will fall in the standings. On top of that the 2023 draft is shaping up to be a solid one, not expecting a 1st in return. Holland has been hesitant to move 1st round picks as well.

At this point in time, the Senators don't have that kind of leverage.

It's not as if they're going to keep him.

A 2nd is probably the highest pick returned at this point - hopefully with something else.

That would be an embarrassingly bad return.

If that's as much as they can get they should just keep him.

If the Oilers are clearing out salary, I'd rather they save their picks for a D and pay a little more for Perron.
