After reading Friedman's tweet, I wouldn't doubt it if he was traded for Hanzal. Hudon seems to meet that criteria, and I have had a feeling for a while that he doesn't really fit into the Habs' plans.
Could be a showcase, could just be a call up to reward him for his solid play in the AHL. We'll see.
the habs are quite small lol, you can be bigger and still have talent.

This , I dont understand why people think big guys dont have skill .
Exactly. A few less small players wouldn't hurt.
Wasn't Lehkonen supposed to be out for only one week ?
If Hudon plays, who's sitting ? Andrighetto ? Terry ? Carr ?
Ha ha... the Stanley cups champs aren't even bigger than the habs... still a lot of people with an inferiority complex here...

Tell you what, lets swap Chucky and Pleks for Crosby and Malkin and you can stock up on all the Oompa Loompas you want
Because you have to give to get. If the team can get an upgrade and a player who can contribute to a cup run then do it. Time to win is now. As well we have a couple of players in the Hudon mold ready to take his place in Lek/Ghetto/Scherback and even guys like McCarron.
Im not saying throw Hudon away, but if we can get a nice piece and the cost is Hudon I do it. Flashback a year ago and a team offered a Hanzel equivelant for Tinordi and we didn't do it because we didn't see Tinordi yet? Ya maybe Hudon becomes a solid NHLer, or maybe he is a Seth Griffth/Corey Locke. Sometimes you have to take the risk. Team plays Hudon half a season and he isn't NHL material then what?
Anyways all this is moot because I doubt the rumors are true.
He's a lot closer to Plekanec or Crosby's build than to Desharnais.
No...Hudon and DD are nothing alike.
DD relies on possession.
Hudon relies on playmaking and has a much better shot than DD.
Everybody says Hudon is slow. He's not, never was, he just doesn't skate much (hence the "keep your feet moving" instructions he seems to receive every game) and he likes to slow down the play. In today's NHL this is against the team's strategy... Hudon is Ribeiro, Giroux (granted Giroux is the elite version of the same playstyle) etc.
I personally think Hudon is being groomed as DD's replacement in the role of a PP specialist forward. He comes with a bad +/- ratio, so you want his offence, but in a very managed usage kind of way.
I hope Hudon get's a fair look. He's been one of the top, most consistent players on the farm team for 3 straight years now. We have to reward his hard work a little or it really sends the wrong message to our prospects.
