While I understand feeling that the return is underwhelming but Motte is functionally a 3rd/4th round pick.

He's reasonably young, an established bottom-6 guy who while smaller can skate and should contribute secondary offense. Has upside. I'd take him over the likely bust that a late 3rd round pick presents.

Motte actually played ok in his games here but wasn't playing the style Torts really wanted and we were the youngest team in the league. With our 3 new guys I doubt we are the youngest anymore though. All over 30.

Nash has question marks imho and im not sure hes a guy i support but vanek has absolutely no question marks and even for this return still sucks

I AM a Nash fan, and considering the prices paid today I'd rather have Vanek. To each their own.

He hasn’t been given a fair shot in the NHL. He’s highly skilled. Columbus had too much depth for him to play. Give him some shifts with Horvat and Boeser and watch
