Conversely I only know 1UPT. It's baked into my strategy approach. It'd be fun to try without it.
It drives me crazy for two reasons:
1) in combat, I like to commit logical groups of forces together with different specialties, and it's kind of difficult/impossible to do that with 1UPT and keep track of who's associated with what. At least for me.
2) I love love love love combining workers on one tile enhancement to speed them up then spreading them back out as needed. (I had heard some comments that Civ6 had fundamentally changed how they work but frankly I've never tried Civ6.)

Do we have a video game thread? I hate to clutter up the Jarmo thread, but I recently bought Civ VI for $5 on the most recent Steam sale. Haven't played it yet, and have never played a previous iteration. Trying to finish up my current playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 before I start a new game, though.
You're brave, jumping into Civ 6 with no prior experience. All they've done since the beginning is add complex systems to every game lol. It's not as crazy as those Firaxis games but it's close.

This is what keeps it interesting though, at least for me. Otherwise I'd have gotten bored of it years ago

Of course, for those of us that started years ago, but someone jumping into the series now with VI might be overwhelmed at the amount of systems
Yeah, better to never try something that might be scary and complicated. Guess I'll stick to Minecraft.

Minecraft isn't scary and complicated? Have you seen it lately? :)

(I do play that pretty often with my nieces and nephews. We have some private worlds that have been kept around for nearly a decade.)

I actually love Minecraft. I've been playing it here and there since 2013. One of the things I love most about it is that it doesn't give you instructions or turorials. You are totally on your own.

Here is the situation. I don’t see any live hockey being broadcast. Who knows what’s happening with Bally’s.

I humbly offer my adult leagues instagram that has live on ice footage of game play

I am skeptical about the Jackets being on tv. I plan on really focusing on my kids’ various sports this year. One kid plays hockey so I’ll get my hockey fix. (Note - I’ll be focused on my kids’ activities whether there is hockey on tv or not.)

I’m sure the nhl will figure something out eventually for next season. Even if it’s shitty in house production a couple weeks into the season.

. It was so humid tonight in the Lou the ice was very wet. I played like total shit and am disgusted with myself. #summerhockey

Anyone else excited for Starfield? It officially releases on the 6th, but I bought the deluxe edition so I'll have early access this weekend. My weekend will be going down to the Greek festival on Friday to load up on Greek food and then playing Bethesda in Space for three days.

The early access starts at 8p on Thursday. This game is the only reason I keep my Series S around, but I'm one of those people that bought multiple copies of Skyrim, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I'll be on PC. I've already got the game files pre-loaded on Steam, ready for 8pm. I've bought Skyrim at least five times myself, from my original 360 GOTY to the Xbox One both regular and Special editions, then PC Special and Anniversary editions. I still play it fairly regularly when I'm stuck on something in another game.

Looking for a an experienced D level defensemen that can play in a adult league on monday night.

My team added several brand new players and I need to find a good D man to help my teams young forwards.

PSA: FuboTV is f***ing trash. Crashes any time I try to use the 15-second fast forward more than once, doesn't always record what I tell it to, has cut off programs twice... and I could deal with all those foibles, except today I discovered it won't let me watch ABC or ESPN on my Mac Pro at all because "Your current video setup is not permitted" and telling me to try to fix that by "disconnecting an external monitor" (news flash, f***ers, it's a traditional desktop, you *have* to have a monitor to see anything on it).

I had gone for their three-month payment schedule because I had figured the worst I would encounter is not liking the interface or the like. I wasn't expecting to be actually cut off from channels I thought I was paying for.
