Thats true. Although it hasnt been pretty when attempted so far, Id love a Hutton Stecher pairing finding chemistry eventually.I think it's fair to say both of them got better apart (much like the awful Edler-Bieksa pairing under the AV days).

Huh, I seem to remember Hutton looking good only when paired with Tanev. His play started to fall apart when he was paired with Gudbranson from my eye test.
But apparently the guy is "good in the room'....same with Sutter, Jimbo;s other 'foundational' acquisition....it's just too bad they can't reduce the size of the ice to the size of a dressing room.

Just leave him in the ****ing room, then. Let him be the league’s first dressing room specialist. Be a goddamn pioneer.
No, he would be taking one of the Aquilinis' son's jobMaybe he could be the equipment manager?
Sadly that could make him the most competent person with "manager" in their title in the entire organization
It doesn't get much more foundational than Cristiano Aquilini..No, he would be taking one of the Aquilinis' son's job
,McCann has as many fights as Gudbranson this season.
McCann has fought Gudas, and McGinn
Gudbranson has fought Schaller and Tom Wilson.
The fact that Gudbranson gets described as having a good first pass shows how the phrase is a meaningless platitude. Amongst regular defenders he is clearly below average in this regard, probably in the bottom 20% of the league. That is not good by any reasonable definition.
Possibly on Tinder.....Never in my life have I heard anyone say Gudbranson has a good first pass
His interview after being drafted was sure unsettling, and not in the Phil Kessel haha sense,
Jared Mc Cann is an All-World Tool who should never have been drafted in the first place, in the hush-hush world of Hockey I've never seen teammates and their families publicly reject someone like that.
And this was known throughout Jr. as well, the guy should never have been drafted.

One of the bright spots of the season:He's actually had some decent shot differentials lately.
I mean for a majority of the year he was atrocious.
Edler's dragging his carcass up and down the ice now. Good way to make someone look at least serviceable is to staple them to one of the two dmen the Canucks have who can actually anchor a pairing, now the only one not hurt. He's actually had some decent shot differentials lately.

Master Scout Jim Benning:
"[Erik Gudbranson] gives us size and strength, he's 6'5" 230, he can make a good first pass with the puck. He's got a real hard shot, he can hammer it from the back end."
Benning: Knew it was a steep price to pay for Gudbranson
It's phenomenal that it's so far from the truth that even the Benning trolls on here wouldn't pretend it was true, yet Benning legitimately thought it was accurate.
But, but, they are playing him with edler now- doesn't that justify his new contract? One of the bright spots of the season:
Our overpaid #7 dman has played average for a couple of games in the meaningless part of the season
