Not saying this story isn't bull, especially for Dobby... I can hunt it down if you don't believe me, but a few years ago a fairly respectable poster alluded to the idea that when the Bruins had acquired Jones, the original plan may have involved keeping Jones and moving Rask.
I don't think Dobby gives them enough confidence to move Rask. but I do think the Bruin's aren't exactly hanging up if Rask's name is brought up. Now, if an actual offer worth thinking about comes in, that's a completely different discussion. But I don't think Rask is on the team's untouchable list.
I believe you, the story about Jones/Rask has been confirmed by some respected posters.
Do I think they would NEVER move Rask, no I don't. He's not untouchable, but really outside of a few guys, who is?
But when I hear stories like "he's a locker-room cancer, blah, blah" I just shake my head.
Sure, Rask may have his days when he is less than pleasant to work with. Same as most people.
But he's been in Boston full-time 8 years now. I don't believe for one second if this guy was a real problem they wouldn't of shipped him out the door first opportunity. Have the Boston Bruins ever been a team that has tolerated long-term dressing room problems?
I do think after 3 seasons of not having two quality goaltenders, it blows my mind how many here want to ship Rask out of town after a hot streak by Khudobin. You need two good goaltenders now. This is a VERY good thing for the 2017-18 Boston Bruins. And yet many posters want to immediately bust it up.
If some team called up Sweeney and blew his socks off with an offer, sure he should consider it. But if he's actively shopping Rask, he's an idiot.
