It's so easy to throw Lucic off his game these days, just look how the Habs did it. Agitate the hell out of him and then skate circles around him. He's just coming off wrist surgery so he's not fighting. Teams know this and have been using it to their advantage.

Thanks I didn't know that.

He did seem to lose it in Montreal, was great to see.

No, no. You must be mistaken. That can't be.

I've talked with people around here. They say we are the only team to go through those struggles. I'm sure they were being honest and don't have some obvious agenda.

You sure it was here you talked to them? Huh,strange!

While it's nice they don't have to face Chara, who do they have to keep Lucic in check?

Nobody but you let him take penalties and if he is getting away with to much there is nothing you can do about it. Take good ice instead of trying to play to much physically against him.i

Not gonna lie, I am so happy Chara is injured. ****ing hate that guy

I do not hate Chara, he is a great player, I respect him immensely. We don't have to hate players from other teams, but I get you. He has been a thorn in his side, and I would never wish harm on a player of his ilk.

or maybe Cody will remember he's 6-5 and 215, and nail Lucic on the boards. After watching Cody drop Chara in that last game against Boston last year, I began to see what Randy sees in Cody - I just wish he brought in every game.

Exactly, Franson plays too much powder puff hockey! He's as soft as melted butter most of the time! He needs to drop an opposition player at least once per game!

Send Komarov out early against Lucic to agitate him and throw him off his game. Also throw Polak out against Marchand early to crush him a few times so we don't get any crap out of him either.

I want the Leafs to learn how to beat the Bruins with Chara in the lineup!

They need to be able to do what the Habs are able to do against them!

However, it'll be an opportunity for Kessel, to show what he can do without wearing Chara as costume jewelery! Let's see what you've got Kessel. It's all on you Saturday night buddy. You better get the job done!

Franson is up there league wide in hits. He doesn't make the best positional decision at times. Not soft though. He gets caught letting guys loose off one of his hits. He could be a better hitter if he was keeping moving after a hit. He tries to contain to much on the boards. Not all the time is he good but he is a value.

2-2 against the Bruins last year.

3-2-2 against them in the playoffs the year before.

Oh, then we must have won the series then :sarcasm: Come on, zeke. You can't write the record in the playoffs as if it was the regular season. It was 3-4 against them in the playoffs. It was a losing record. Period. You don't get anything for losing in OT in the playoffs.

I'm using Zone-Start Adjusted 5v5 corsi CLOSE for percentage here for now. It IS adjusted for zone starts and for score effects, but is NOT adjusted for quality of competition or quality of teammate.

In a rare case that may just cause the HF servers to implode, you're both right.

Boston's second line (or 1b line) has been hot garbage so far this year... combined -8 and Bergeron has looked bad so far this year :amazed:.. Oh yeah... and Tuuka Rask has an .880 SV% right now.. This team is in slight disarray right now.

Leafs Home Board
Not a bigger loss to overcome by a team then Chara for the Bruins, but good teams have and find a way to absorb injuries.

Leafs better not take the Bruins for granted thinking this is a easy win with big Z in the lineup.

There's hits, and then, there's HITS! With his size, he needs to lay people out, not politely bump into them! JMHO. :madfire:

Man the bruins this year are not what they were last. This should be interesting to say the least.

I wanna see Komarov lay Lucic the **** out.

You don't want to engage Lucic physically.
You either want to keep him sleeping so he lumbers around ineffective or get him fighting mad without fighting so he goes crazy and takes himself out of the game. You want to out skate him and frustrate him with what he can't catch.
I expect a big game from Gardiner who always seems to play like a Norris trophy D against them.
