Notes In my view Driedger was the star of the game.... Binghamton gave what they had tonite against a much more skilled and talented Syracuse team..... They did it by hard work and ground out the win..... Or perhaps the Hockey Gods looked down at this very short AHL team and said we have to help this poor team tonite, who knows???????

Kyle Flanagan injured
Zack Stortini injured
Three Stars:
1. BNG - P. Varone
2. SYR - A. Erne

Up next the league leading WBS Pens visit Saturday December 31st 2016 New Years Eve. Pens lost last nite so they might be a bit annoyed..............
Happy New Year to all..... I wish you health and happiness in 2017................
Het Zeke ... Happy New Year buddy!
Can you tell me a little about Rodewalde, he seems to have the size & decent wheels & he also seems to be scoring. In fact, if & when you have the time can you give us a comparison between Buddy, Rodewald & Bailey? Tks Zeke & all the best in 2017 mon ami.
Is Rodewald a Ottawa signing or Binghamton signing?
Seems like Akeson has been the missing piece for this team.
Never understood why they let him go in the first place. Great AHLer
They've actually passed Marlies in points after this win. I'm surprised as I thought Marlies were supposed to be good.
All the talent they had last year left
Brennan and Arocbello aging AHL vets gone
Nylander, Brown, Hyman and Soshnikov promoted to the NHL... Leafs have so many rookies this year
017-01-02 Gabriel Gagne (RW) DEL Reassigned by Ottawa (NHL) to Wichita (ECHL)
2017-01-01 Casey Bailey (RW) ADD Returned on loan from Ottawa (NHL)
Gabriel Gagne big time is lacking hockey sense. He loves to score, but he looks completely lost out there. And he's soft, big player but he plays like Alex Chassion, if there's a chance to score he's going to play hungry, if the puck isn't near the net, he isn't sure if he should drive the Zamboni or back check. He has the exact same mind set as Chaisson in that he only wants to prove he's an NHL player by scoring, every other part of the game can wait because he believes in his heart he's a 40 goal scorer and his offensive game will shine through and keep him in the NHL.
And Gagne pays standing up a lot, he doesn't lower his shoulder and drive. Great shot, he's huge, but to say the puck follows him around would be a lie. Gagne lacks heart which I hate to say, but for a player his size, Chris kelly would make him look like a wimp.
he wanted to be a pro, so the Sens gave him the chance. Be careful what you wish for I guess is the message to him from Dorion, you think you're good, you're not even a good player in the ECHL. You think you can play in the NHL, you can't even get a point in the AHL.
Not calling Gagne a bust, far from it, but the game is moving at about 100 times the speed he can handle. I'm betting if Boucher and the demand for speed and hockey sense was our main drafting chractestrsitic instead of a balance of big-man with touch, we wouldn't have traded up for him and probably not of drafted him at all.
Seriously I read this and I wonder on what it is based on. Have you watched Gagne play every game in the AHL and ECHL this season? Have you had him in an interview? Do you follow him in practice?
All those judgments you make seem more baseless than anything. Same goes for Chiasson. It sounds more like a drama novel than anything.
Yes I did watch him in junior, no I haven't interviewed him. I also watched his preseason games in Ottawa. This is based on what I see, what do you see?
