People have a flawed belief that a player can completely be responsible for the points some other player puts up. I completely disagree. You must have some talent to pick up 43 goals or 125 points. You cannot score 40 goals and be an absolute buffoon. Think about it, Semenko's best season, on a line with Wayne Gretzky, was 27 points. Mike Krushelnyski, Warren Young, Rob Brown, Bernie Nicholls, Brett Calligen and BJ MacDonald all did much better than that when they had an opportunity. Those players had some talent otherwise, they would have put up 27 points.
