Isn't this entire series just a cluster**** of events? I actually started watching with Freak Show because I liked the idea of the story, but every one since and including that one has been a trainwreck. I mean, I enjoy them, but I don't look or wait for substance or great storytelling. As the seasons go on I try to become less invested in plot and reason and enjoy it based on short-term memory :p

I still have to watch the first 3 seasons, which I hear were better than anything I have seen. One of these days...

Apparently the series as a whole is all supposed to be connected. I believe Ryan Murphy said it follows Dante's nine circles of hell. Each season being a circle. Which would explain the use of the same actors/characters over multiple seasons.

I hope you are right. Just from the first episode, Sara Paulson and here over the top antics with all her phobias was getting on my nerves. Hopefully they sort that out with her taking her meds.

Just ONE episode where her (main) character isn't in complete hysterics the entire runtime would be an improvement. Last season was awful and the S7 premiere wasn't too promising IMO. There's no subtlety to this show anymore.

Yeah, I've read that. I just watch at face value what they show us. Of course I catch many things they put out there, more than my wife who was always a bigger fan and even since season 1, but I'm not trying to solve puzzles in my spare time to look/think deeper than that.

The last two or three seasons of American Horror Story I've completely abandoned by the halfway point.

Looks like this season is going to be more of the same.

I'm trying really hard to like this season. But it's just all over the place. The story, the characters... nothing is being fleshed out and given any substance. It's not even giving ITSELF a chance to win over viewers with story or pace, instead, just going for cheap attempts at shock.

Hated Roanoak. This season is getting there.

My wife's been addicted to it since Coven (which is the last season I really liked, although Freak Show had its moments).

Holy **** that woman terrified of clowns is annoying.

*edit* Okay, my wife's back from work and she's firing up the dvr with the next episode. God, this **** is deeply aggravating. Worst season ever. Worse than Roanoak.

Not watching it. Over and out.

I can't say I'm hating this season but I am still confused, its not really letting stuff play out and just jumps all over the place. I do like how misleading it is with "Who are the killers / clown people" and with it only being on EP3 not much should be answered yet but still.. can be a tad hard to follow with them still adding in new elements.

I don’t hate it but I can’t say I really like it either.

Every year I believe Sarah Paulson sets a goal to be even more annoying with her characters than the previous.

With that, at least, it's wildly successful. Unfortunately.

Just starting yesterday's episode now...

at first I thought the clowns were all in Ally's and her child's head, but now I'm kinda thinking (and I'll just put it in spoilers because why not)

[spoil]what if the psychiatrist is giving all his patients some weird ass drugs that make them all envision the same thing and he's behind it? Or it turns into some Black Mirror **** where he's controlling everything. I don't know... the opening kind of shifted where I think it might be going. I'm about 95% sure the therapist is behind it in some way but I never know with this show.[/spoil]

I don't know -- I'm just spit balling because I really have no idea what's happening and where it's going to go. At least with Hotel and Roanoke the hints were there from the start. This one just seems like... I don't know.

lol at the neighbours in sombreros and their Taco Bell coupons. "Tell that to the Native Americans" lmfao

okay, finished the episode, yup, definitely believe what I thought when I just started the episode in the spoil tags.

[spoil]The scene where he's on the phone with Ally while playing with those face pins on his desk, and then the subsequent faces on the walls, makes me believe so, and Kai is totally a part of it.[/spoil]

The person you are speaking of is part of the main cast. So it would lead me to believe you're on to something, although I doubt it's exactly that.

Just not really feeling this season at all. I miss Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy - among others... just a very forgettable season. Don't know how much more I can stomach of Paulson screaming.

Edit: So at the end of Ep3 Harrison blames Ally for the disappearance of Meadow, seems to be detained. Then we find out it was just a rouse to cause more city panic?? (but also get Meadow out of the picture because she can't be trusted) Or was this all to mess with Ally?

There must have been a gap between Ep3 and 5 (since 4 is just flash backs) because Ally and whatever her name is had some sort of custody battle already over Ozzy.

Ally mentions that her partner convinced the judge to allow supervised visits, that's why she was meeting with Oz at the restaurant.

Damn, didn't expect my spoiler tags to get ruined when we migrated.

Ayy, tho. Not a bad guess... sort of on the right path. Didn't expect Kai and Dr. Vincent to be related though.

I'm not going to read any more of this thread until I catch up, because for some reason I still watch this tire fire of a show. To its credit, though, this season's first couple of episodes weren't too bad and were actually okay overall. I'm only two episodes in, however, with the rest on my PVR for when I feel like watching more.

I'm sure it'll become a trainwreck and and an embarrassing one soon enough.

The first season of the show was fantastic. I really liked it, and it hooked me. However, while the second season started off well, the everything but the kitchen sink approach they took with it wore thin and it lacked depth. Far too much happened, lots of it was underdeveloped and some of it was just plain silly. I don't get how anyone can say it's the better of the two.

I missed Coven, and am not sure if I'll ever bother with it, but I've watched the other seasons since. Freak Show was dull and went nowhere, and got worse in its later episodes. Hotel was just softcore porn with no depth and lots of stupidity, bad writing and terrible acting. Roanoke had an okay start, then became embarrassingly bad and stupid, and was one of the worst things I've ever seen.

I think we're half-way through the season now? I think. We haven't gotten anything ridiculously stupid yet, so I think that's a good sign and I'm hopeful they keep it on the rails to end the season. I've enjoyed it.

Should be at the half-way point, as these usually have 10 episodes do they not? I think I have 3 on my PVR, meaning 5 have aired?

Glad to hear it hasn't gone overboard/gotten too stupid....yet.

This has been BY FAR the best season since season 3. Evan Peters is absolutely CRUSHING it in his role.

Was so excited to see Emma Roberts come back, only for her to die in that episode
