Forgot to mention Gordon Biersch is probably the closest to the strip & is a restaurant as well. They are on Paradise near the Hard Rock.

I don't usually include them because they aren't really "local". I've never actually been there, so I can't recommend their food, but I have had their beers.

Hello again, I'm back with another question.

Any brewery suggestions? I'm not too fond of IPAs. I also see that there's a ton of Sin City Brewing Company. ...is that a bad thing?

I would check out Tenaya Creek brewery it isn't oo far from the strip. Crafthaus and Bad Beat are next door to each other but is a bit of a drive from the strip, I personally like Bad Beat more. And if you are driving out that far you might as well keep driving to Boulder Dam Brewery in Boulder City that is one of my favorites.

Tenaya Creek, Bad Beat, Banger. Maybe CraftHaus, although they've struck me as IPA-heavy compared to Bad Beat. Lovelady is also in the Henderson area, not too far from Bad Beat and CraftHaus.

(Hop Nuts and Big Dog's are also here, but I haven't visited either of those two yet.)

You guys got one of those coming to Vegas threads anywhere?

My wife and I are most likely coming to celebrate 10 years of marital bliss.

Pst in prpr thrd pls.

When are you coming?

Looking like it's most likely going to be the end of August sometime. Seems to be the cheapest for hotels and flights.

Our 10 year anniversary is in a couple weeks but I'm going to the Wednesday practice round at the Masters so I'm already taking that whole week off so we are going to do our trip later this year.

I do want to golf while we are there. I would die to play Wolf Creek or something if anyone has any hook ups?

I'm assuming that Uber/Lyft would be pretty damn pricy to get out there so I may just rent a car for a day to make the trip up there if I can.

It's pretty cheap because it's hot as balls here in August.

What makes you want to go Wolf Creek? Just the pictures? It's definitely cool, but it's target golf and I'm not good enough for that. Plus, there's not much between here and Mesquite, so it's not like it's a pleasant drive unless you really like desert.

Do you have an idea of where you'd like to stay?

Yeah I kinda figured it was hot. We have the high 90's to low 100's with 90-100% humidity during the summers which is miserable.

RE: Wolf Creek. Yes, it looks like the most beautiful golf course in the world from all the pictures I've seen. Just always been a bucket list item since I can't afford Shadow Creek.

I was looking at Excalibur or LINQ, possibly Harrah's. The last time we were both there we stayed at the Wynn. Gorgeous, but her work paid for it so it's too pricy if we want to actually enjoy the town. I stayed at Imperial Palace during my 21'st but I think it's gone. I do love the location of Harrah's in regards to being mainly the "center" of the strip. I am open to other suggestions though!

I think Shadow Creek has gone downhill since MGM took over, too. I've heard that, but how knows how those people know?

Imperial Palace is the Linq. From what I've heard, the hotel tower is pretty much the same if you enjoyed that. Plus, I don't think Linq charges for parking and they added a little alleyway entertainment area toward the Ferris Wheel too so you've got closer places in walking distance. Bally's and Flamingo are always a pretty solid place for a decent price as well, and the Flamingo's pool area is still pretty awesome. They're renovating the Monte Carlo, so you might get a decent rate there too and stay in the South Strip area.

well I'll be damned. I loved being close to Caesar's and the Bellagio when walking out of IP so the fact it's the same place is pretty cool!

We won't need parking since we are flying in and aren't planning on driving (unless I get that rental for a day). Any golf recommendations from a local?

I'm not really a golfer persay, but I always enjoyed Bear's Best when I got the chance. It helped that it was greatly discounted, though.

Any thoughts to staying downtown LV at Goldspike? The games look like fun activites!
Downtown isn't everyone's cup of tea. It's the Cousin Eddie in National Lampoon version of Vegas, but it's got the old Vegas charm and some of the grime people like in their cities. I personally dig it, but it's not really the place I'd suggest a visitor stay unless they know what it is.

Goldspike is alright. It's basically a huge bar with a hotel and a back yard.

I enjoyed binions and the golden nugget as well as the freemont experience but that was 12 years ago. We didn’t stay downtown but for a few hours. It was fun though!

You get what you pay for, I'd steer people away from August unless you want to spend a lot of time at the pool. Its really unpleasant to play golf, by the 12th hole its going to feel like a chore or a penalty. Come in December and you'll most days get glorious golf weather at bargain basement prices and get a chance to see a VGK game.

My wife would never leave the pool if she had the choice!

I don't mind getting up and getting off the tee box first thing in the AM. I don't mind the heat too much especially since there's almost no humidity. Here we get the hot temps AND the humidity is 90 - 100% most of the time.

Summerlin golf courses usually has an unlimited deal for a month. I think it's 250 but the catch is the tee times are all from 2 pm or later when it's hot. You can go to any summerlin golf course except for tpc. I believe they have had this deal for the past 3 years. I don't golf as much as I should since I live in the ridges and while bears best is a decent course, I get distracted looking at all of the custom homes that are much nicer than my semi custom. There's an empty lot that's nearly 4 acres that's going for 8 mil that I keep staring at when golfing at bears best and I dream what it would be like to build a dream home there. I'm in the real estate business so I get distracted by homes. There's lots of golf courses here. I'm not into it but they seem to be all the same to me.

I'm into amateur club auto racing and there's lots of exotic car rentals that you can drive on a track with an instructor. That's what I would recommend. I'm a Porsche guy but there's way more exotic cars that you can drive like Ferrari, Lamborghinis, and aston martin.

I glanced at that and it looks to be on the pricy side of activities. I'm not opposed but I think the significant other would prefer some other activites (like a spa day, of course.)

Check out TPC Las Vegas or Paiute (Wolf) course.
Las Vegas National is a fun track too. It’s not the greatest course in the world but it has plenty of history to go along with it. It used to be on the PGA Tour (Tiger’s first Tour Win was there along with TPC Summerlin). It was also featured in the movie CASINO. “Ace Rothstein’s” House is on the 1st/18th fairways. I play there 2x a month.

Alright travel and hotel booked. We got free flights on southwest so we splurged a bit on the hotel. We are going to stay at the Venetian.
Well, there you go.

Free parking at the Venetian too, so you can pick up a $20/day car to get around and not have to pay $20/day to park it. Opens up your options a lot.

I looked at rentals on Avis and it was going to be 400 for the 5 days. Any tips on a cheap rental?
