I looked at rentals on Avis and it was going to be 400 for the 5 days. Any tips on a cheap rental?
Go to Enterprise anywhere but the airport or the Strip.

Most of the car dealerships will have a rental place in them, usually Enterprise. You can catch an Uber to the rental place and pay local rates without all the tourism taxes.

Coming to Vegas April 19-22 from Canada, yearly wind-up for our hockey team. Always stay at the Flamingo as we gamble at O'Sheas, and the pool is amazing. Hopefully we can catch a Knights playoff game!

Look into Fox car rentals, too. Cut rate, away from the airport rental center but not to awfully far.

Avis and Hertz often are double what others will charge, their market is travelers who aren't price sensitive and want the perks of their clubs. Go to any of the booking search sites and look for a rental there and see if you can get better. I'd just book the cheapest one from the airport for now and then check it every month or so until you get closer to trip time as rental cars will usually trend down up until about 2-3 weeks before rental date. As long as you don't do a prepaid deal you can easily cancel every time you get a better deal. Same for hotels, rates for a slow time like August will always be cheaper in the future unless something unusual like that Mayweather-McGregor fight get added to the calendar.

I am in regional management / corporate for one of the large rental car companies. My recommendation is to never pick up on the strip due to high concession fees and much higher rates (Some of my locations in Vegas have 33% hotel concession fees and 20.25% sales tax) Airports have high fees too but depending on the rates you can get some good deals.

Shopping around is your key to success. Know any affiliation you may have to get you discounts.

I plan on doing that for sure with the hotel. Booked for now but will check weekly to see if there's been a change in price.

I don't NEED a rental, so I think we are just going to skip out on that and if I do decide to golf just take an Uber there and back.

If you're in Strip mode the whole time, you can get away without a car.

If you're planning on taking Uber more than three times, you're probably better off with a cheapy rental. Especially if you're at Venetian and have free parking. You're likely $60 round trip to the golf course, assuming it's nice. You're not going to Wolf Creek in a rideshare.

Trip to downtown to check it out is probably a $30-$40 RT.

Now the true question is who wants to join me for an early morning round of golf? :)

I'm about 2 months or so away from being able to make a tee time but I'd like to get out early and beat as much of the heat as possible. I'm going to ask them how much for a non-playing rider and if it's not too bad I'm going to bring the wife to ride along!

I might be interested, depending on the date. Send me a PM!

Sorry if it' been mentioned but what exactly are Loge boxes/seats? Some of them seem very reasonably priced I'm just having hard time figuring out what they are. Are they similar to standing room seats? Any input would be great! Any other local sites besides stubhub for tickets? I will be at the march 18th game

If they're what they used to call "Opera Boxes" they're kind of their own little box seat area with access to the luxury suite concourse. They're on the top of the lower bowl on the shoot twice side.

What section numbers are they?

We secured our seats for Home Game #3. SRO. Hopefully the series goes 5 games;). Where is the place to be for pre-gaming, tailgating?

Everywhere. T-Mobile is on the Strip.
I suppose you could slam a beer or two in the parking garage if you don't want to spend $6/beer pregame.

I guess we could just walk from the Flamingo to NYNY and pub crawl it, popping into every Casino for a drink on the way. Might have to start the trek at 9am:laugh:

I legitimately thing that's the thing. As you get closer to the arena you'll get more people.

Beerhaus is in The Park, it's not my favorite, but the location makes it the spot usually.

That’s what we do. Lol. Meet my buddies in the 6th floor of NYNY garage. Have a beer or 2 and some pretzels. We then take as many as we can carry down to The Park and hang out.
