Whatever you do, just hope and pray the Isles don't draft anyone from the Kingston Frontenacs. My hometown's the poster child for high picks who ended up being massive disappointments.

Any Frontenacs projected to be a top 31 pick this year?

Second Round - Dellandrea and Khovanov with Dobson and Smith!

That's a helluva draft

Dellandrea is gonna be a first rounder.

Would rather trade up with one of our 2nds and something else to get him or another center.

No. Nathan Dunkley is rated somewhere in the 2nd/3rd round, but he was dealt from Kingston to London at the trade deadline. So he might be able to shake the stink of the Frontenacs off him by the time his junior career is over.

Ooo forgot about the Snow special, yeah we might have three first rounders in the draft.

If Garth doesn't like what we have available at 11-14 with CGY pick, he could trade down and pick up a second in the 2019 draft too. Then trade up with the seconds and we can have three first rounders and flexibility next year.

I like everything you said except for that word Garth in there.

In the second round I like David Gustafsson (late 2nd, early 3rd) I started watching HV71 a little and think this kid has the potential to be another Jordan Staal, Sean Couturier type two way center. As a young man he's relied on heavily to be a defensive center on a really good team and shows flashes of good offensive potential. Another name that might fall into the early 2nd round is Alexander Alexeyev.... and because we always seem to take at least one kid from MN HS, Jax Nelson (no relation) is a 6'4 200lb RH center that could go anywhere from the late 2nd to early 4th.

Just touching on the low risk / safe bet part as I don't really follow the jr players but that caught my attention . I remember the Ryan Omarra pick being labeled as a low risk safe bet also. That's all

Cheers

Me as well. that was a weak draft. The 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th pick that year played a whopping 33 games total in the NHL and that was all O'Marra.

Bouchard I would say but niether ready for next year imo.

Like the guy who he compares to (Pulock), Bouchard already has 3 CHL seasons under his belt. He would be AHL eligible after next season. We could get a 4-year ELC out of him if we stash him in the AHL for a season, just like Pulock. Something to consider.

I am leaning towards Dobson though.

Some day Bouchard is safer and that Dobson has a slightly higher upside. I love Bouchard and he’s been one of my favorites for 2 years. It’s interesting to see Dobson being compared to Pietrangelo because when I watch Bouchard I feel like I’m watching Pietrangelo lol

Either way this is a really good draft especially for Defensman. We can’t f*** up. We could potentially hit on 2 reallly really key players for the future. Fingers crossed we make the right choices.

My dream scenario without winning the lottery is Going home with Wahlstrom and Bouchard.
my original dream was bouchard and lundstrom, and now that i look into wahlstrom I think i love him, he would be dynamite on brazal wing IMO. The more i look into this drafts top 15 the more i like. I hope we trade up with our 2 2nds and get 3 blue chippers

Wahlstrom is an animal. Amazing puck handling and a great release. Great size too. He plays center but I think he’s going to 100% be a winger at the next level. I see legit 30+ goal potential with him.

I’d we miss out on him another forward to look at is Veleno.

I'm not seeing the Pulock comparison to Bouchard.... Bouchard is much more polished in the defensive end, and a better skater. He logs big minutes in all situations besides leading all D men in scoring. He's the Knights leading scorer, and he's deployed to shut down the opposing teams top line.

Im standing by my Pietrangelo comparison. Not saying he will become Pietrangelo in the NHL but in juniors that’s who he reminds me of.

I feel like Petro was much more physical in JR. I like the Carlson and Hamilton comparisons better.

I remember him being on Niagara. He was amazing in all facets of the game. Even being so young.

I was speaking more to how Petro plays now. There’s never going to be perfect comparisons. I agree that Bouchard is more cerebral and positionaly sound than he is physical.

I want Bouchard or Dobson with our 1st pick in the first round. BPA with pick 2 in the first round. Then D with the first pick in the 2nd, and then a goalie. We need another good goalie prospect.

i agree, from what I've read none of the goalie prospects are worthwhile. I think id prefer trade back into the first and grab another high end prospect like serron noel

ya leaving with wahlstrom and bouchard would be an incredible Win IMO, whats your thoughts on lundstrom with our 2nd pick?
