We are really gonna play the division game? Please.
Had they not comeback last year, we would have said the Cubs offense put up video game numbers against bad NL Central pitching.
If anything, I think deep down the Astros probably wish the Indians had won instead.
But they've proven over the long haul (three years) they are a legit top offense. And they did come back, and they didn't bat a record low for a seven-game series.
The NL Central pitching staffs weren't even THAT bad the last few years, at least not at the top with the Cards/Pirates. You play almost half your games in division and the AL West staffs were absolutely atrocious this year. The Angels' best starter was who, JC Ramirez or Parker Bridwell? The Mariners' staff was Paxton, an x-ray machine and replacement castoffs. The Rangers' only starting pitcher below a 4 ERA was Cashner, who fluked his way to a decent season. Even Darvish and Hamels didn't pitch that great this year. Oakland had half a season of Sonny Gray and junk aside from his 16 starts.
