I'm confident that Verlander will send this to a game 7. Who wins that is anyone's guess at this point.

Houston gagging late in game 4 is the turning point. Either they'll fold in game 6 or fight back and possibly advance to the World Series.

I think the Yankees are just on a roll now after that ghastly Game 4 and will find a way to scratch out a 3-1 win or whatever in Game 6, probably with the Astros pen blowing it late again.

I don't really believe the home field helps Houston cause the bats are already tight. Even the games they won were basically coin flips with their best pitchers going 16/18 innings.

Yanks have out pitched Houston to this point and they have to like how they lineup for 6 and potentially game 7.

Series isn’t over, but the Yankees are in the driver’s seat for Game 6

Game 2 of this series could be different if Sanchez wasn't a sieve and Houston would be crushed for sending Altuve. But it is what it is.

As stated, both teams have merely protected home field. Verlander having the Yankees number in the postseason could bring back some momentum as well.

We'll see what happens. I'm not about to crown the Yankees just yet.

Astros were in a similar spot in 2004: lose 2 on the road, win 3 at home.

Didn’t work out for them.

Let’s see if the Yankees can win away from the Bronx first.

Verlander was overworked in game 2. Yankees saw a lot of pitches from him. And they can't hit any worse than they did that night. These hitters are elite and can adjust.

Considering this is the last year of his contract, if the Yankees go all the way, could Girardi step down and go out on top ala LaRussa 2011?

Home team won every game.

Getting 2001 PTSD really f***ing bad right now. Plus, this is the first time this team has been ahead.

It'll be a test.

I like how this is set up for us. Got our young ace on the mound. The entire bullpen is fresh as daisies, and the big bats have finally broken out of their slumps.

Verlander is still very tough, but their bullpen is charmin soft and their bats have been MIA all series.

And, you gotta like the matchup in game 7 with CC on the hill and the Keuchel/Verlander out of the way.

If we lose game 6, I don't want this team getting down. They have two legit chances at it. But knowing these guys, I don't think you can break them, so I'm confident we'll get both of our chances if need be.

Absolutely. Especially with CC’s record after loses and the fact he is the savy vet. Absolutely the guy you want in a potential pressure packed Game 7

He might leave in a fit of pique (though I think that'd be a career suicide move) or take a year or so off for family reasons but he's not likely to retire at age 53.

The Dodgers may be best advised to lose tonight and have Kershaw pitch tomorrow and be on 4 days rest for game 1. I think they're in big trouble if they sweep this and either of these teams come in raging hot with only 2 or 3 off days

Yeah, they should totally intentionally throw games.

Yeah, they should totally intentionally throw games.

Teams need to figure out some way to stay fresh between series whether it means scrimmaging or having their starters thrown bullpen sessions because you're almost an automatic loss in the World Series when you sweep the LCS
