Yes, but... if he doesn’t screw up in game 1, the Yankees would have won in 5.

How did he screw up? By trying to score in a building in which the Yankees scored 3 runs in 4 games? Yeah, he really took the bat out of their hands.

Really bizarre to pin anything on Bird. Led the team in OBP and OPS by huge margins.

Congrats to both teams. Yankees came back from elimination more than a few times this post season but their luck finally ran out, IMO they win this if its at Yankee Stadium (1-6 road record these playoffs). Overall great effort, nobody really expected them to make the playoffs let alone make it to the G7 of the ALCS.... they got a great future.

As for the 'Stros.... heres hoping they don't get swept this time. Great to see them back in the Fall Classic and overall great effort by them.

So I guess in the end after all the ASTROS ARE SCARED OF THE BRONX, the Yankees were scared of Texas.

What goes around come around.

Nah, the Stros weren't scared of the Bronx, they won 3 of 4 there in the regular season. The Yankees just took it up a notch when playing at home all postseason. The real difference maker was all the talk about how horrid Houston's bullpen was and how allegedly unhittable New York's pen was, in the final two games it was the complete opposite. Not to mention Chapman losing Game 2 as well.

The Astros actual relievers are the problem, not their starters pitching out of the bullpen. Either their starters need to go 8 and get it to Giles, or it will be a problem for them. Hinch has no confidence in his actual relievers.
