Oh, so it was just based on a hypothetical that he was available?

There wasn't an article on him being available was there?

If the Flames just wanted a roster position or pick, I'm not even sure I would pay for it.

Why not just let him hit free agency and sign him then?

I didn't realize there was an article .. And I'm not sure what his intent is. I'd consider him more of a piece in a trade say if the Flames wanted to acquire Bernier or something, he could be a prospect in the deal.

If they believe that they'll lose him to free agency anyways, the smart thing would be to include him in a deal before they had to hit the negotiation process.

I wasn't referring to any article.

I just know he's in the same position as Vesey.

Arcobello montage first post lol

Honestly.., I didn't start this thread.. One of the Mods must have... (most likely, Bert, since he started all the other 2016 Draft threads..

The posts at the beginning were ones I made in the previous thread from this topic.. I would have rather had my VIDEO REFERENCE thread pinned.., but I still thank the Mod(s) for the thought.. :)

Could have put this in the trade thread, but figured it'd get lost, and that the prospects thread would still be appropriate...

One thing that I like about getting Lindberg is that he played for DJ Smith last year, so we have first-hand insight into the kind of player he is and could be. Could be a gem for us.

Marlies lose Frattin and Bailey, but gain Lindberg ... Given their depth I doubt it'll affect them much

Oops and Rupert too. It's a bit of a hit but they should be able to manage. Wonder if this helps cement Nylander being on the Marlies for the rest of the season

The Marlies are going to be so stacked. Nice to know Keefe had him before.

Lindberg - Nylander - Kapanen
Soshnikov - Arcobello - Leivo
Leipsic - Gauthier - Brown
Morin- Carrick - Hyman

Those top 3 lines are top lines on a lot of other AHL teams.

Well so much for Rupert should play over Gauthier.
The Marlies are looking solid!

He should have been included in that deal. :sarcasm:

The Marlies just got better in terms of talent.

My guess is that Greening comes up, sooner rather than later.

With the injuries right now, I'd be willing to bet he's up with the Leafs soonish. They didn't say where he was reporting though, unless I missed it.

Once PAP, Matthias and/or maybe even Grabner are traded, Greening will be a much needed stop gap.

I was hoping Michalek would be healthy when I heard he was in the deal so that they could perhaps flip him, but it doesn't look like he will be. Solid stop gap going into next season if anything.

Yeah, Michalek is likely going to be the guy that heads out next off-season if he can stay healthy.

Greening will fit in with the rest of the 3rd or 4th liners that currently make up the roster.

Yeah, i LOVE everything i have seen from him so far in the AHL. Obviously haven't watched every game, but any of us who watch the marlies will at least have a sense of the guy ... Very happy with this pickup.

Garrett Sparks has been sent down to the ECHL Solar Bears.

He has said multiple times he loved playing for the Bears and since Bibeau is on fire right now, it's a good way to give Sparks some starts after he's been sidelined with an injury for awhile.

I doubt he's there for very long. If/when the Leafs trade Bernier or Reimer at the deadline, Sparks is likely the backup moving forward.

My God...

We essentially traded our entire 4th line for an upgraded player and the opportunity for better players to get more ice time. M.Rupert may be traded away in an AHL deal soon to join his brother. Seems like the thing that would happen.
