Arcobello is presently the #4 point-maker in the entire AHL..(as of February 7th), #1 on the Marlies, for goals...and has been a solid 2-way player and team leader.....

Personally.., I think he would be a good vet to keep with the Marlies... He might or might not translate into a permanent Leaf, but his leadership qualities, size and production remind me of a Ziggy and/or D'Amigo..

Nylander with 5 points in his first 2 games back...seems to be recovering well

That's why it's good sometimes, to take a little extra time with the recovery..

Brown has also been lighting it up.., since he's returned.. :)

I think its a certainty that if Vesey doesn't sign with Nashville, the Leafs will at the very least make a strong pitch.

I feel that they should do the same with Jankowski out of Calgary. I'd much rather use a contract on him then Frattin or Bailey.

It seems to me that Jankowski is far more likely to sign with Calgary than Vesey with Nashville. Thats just from my gut though, reading about the players etc.

There's been nothing indicating Jankowski won't sign in Calgary.

But with that said Vesey, Jankowski and Zaistev all joining in one off-season would be incredible.

Never heard of Jankowski to be honest.

Big gamble by Calgary in the first round of some recent draft. Best way to describe Jankowski would be of a skilled big man who is scared of his own shadow. He's probably developed quite a bit in the college program but that descriptiondescription hasn't lost its charm all these years.

Mark Jankowski is big and skilled. A bit weak for his size but is easily a Top 9 player. He also comes from a big hockey family and I remember him being related to an old Leaf. I want to say it was Red Kelly but it might be Keon. Anyway, he's definitely worth a contract. He'd help out the Marlies as a top 6 centre next year and we'd see from there.

Yes, he was considered a reach when drafted.

I'd absolutely take a chance on Jankowski if he was available myself .. Definite reach at the type but still a second round talent. Production-wise he's progressed every year.

I think he's in the Joe Colborne situation.

He's an NHL player eventually, but where does he fit?

You acquire talent at all costs, he could very well be Colbourne-lite. At worst you trade him or let him ride out his 2 year ELC

Colborne-lite isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. That contract spot could be used on one of our grown prospects or an NCAA/Euro wunderkid.

I wouldn't say at all costs.

Unless you're getting him at a discounted rate, what's the point in getting him?

IMO that's kind of the point  It's on the premise that he doesn't really want to sign in Calgary, so they want to get something for him.

Oh, so it was just based on a hypothetical that he was available?

There wasn't an article on him being available was there?

If the Flames just wanted a roster position or pick, I'm not even sure I would pay for it.

Why not just let him hit free agency and sign him then?
