Hard to say... 16 goals in 21 playoff games last season. Seems like he may be a guy who should be on the power play in some sort of facet.

It is a team full of superstars, Horvat is good on the PP, a lot of these players are elite at it

I just put Horvat in because he seems to have found a little chemistry with Monahan, and is great on the boards and faceoffs if needs be. And to the guy that said to use 2 D-men on each PP.. I think it would be a mistake not to have Shinkaruk on the point if he was to have any PP time at all. He snipes all day up there and Sutter knows that seeing him in the dub all the time.

Domi-McDavid-Mantha
Shinkaruk-Reilly

Horvat-Monahan-Rychel/Reinhart (maybe?)
Dumba-Finn/Pulock

How do those look for PP lines. Assuming Reilly is available.

If Horvat's on the PP it's to park in front of the net and screen the goalie/bang in rebounds. He's pretty damn good at that actually.

Guys, who was #15 during the camp? He really looked bad on that third USA goal.

Edit: nvm found out, hard to believe it was Pouliot :/

Morgan's more of a playmaker at the blueline, would like to see him with Pulock who has a bomb of a shot at the point.

That seems like a good skill set match and you have the righty and lefty thing. Pulock as the triggerman and Reilly setting things up. Let Pulock just keep unleashing bombs and sort out all the broken bones after the goal. ;)

Shinkaruk is hardly a shoe in for the team at this point and you have him manning the point on the 1st pp unit? Reilly/Pullock could be deadly from the backend...Reilly is an amazing passer/creative with the puck and Pullock with maybe the hardest shot in junior hockey...Domi/McDavid/Mantha works for me up front...

I was in Lake Placid for the camp, and I don't think Shinkaruk will make the team. Just a hunch.

BTW, Banshee rocks!

Can anyone tell me how Pulock looked?

I've been a big fan of Pulock's since i saw him play a few years ago. At 17 (Year before his draft year) He was better than any D drafted that year. (Murray, Reilly, Reinhart, Dumba). But he didn't have the best draft year. I know injuries had a lot to do with it, but i'm interested to see if he has a shot at the team. Sort of reminds me of Cowen in that Cowen was the best 16 year old D in the world and then got injured which hurt his development.

You make your PP lineups and I'll tell you who is a shoe in and who isn't. I'm just guessing what may work, it's impossible to know what it will actually be.

I did exactly that in my post. Reilly/ Pulock on the points, Domi/McDavid/Mantha first pp unit. Pouliot, Nurse/Shinkaruk on the points Horvat/Mohnahan/Wilson 2nd pp unit. Reihnhart could potentially slide in Wilson's place but I like a net presence on my pp, and Wilson is an absolute handful. I have Shinkaruk making the squad as the extra forward/pp specialist....

Reinhart, Petan,Leipsic,Mantha are all guys that could fill similar roles to Shinkaruk as offensive linchpins that are potential bubble guys..Also think Monahan is similarly gifted if not more offensively than Hunter...

Leipsic will be an energy line player if he makes the team, but by the sounds of it, stupid penalties are still plaguing him when he wears the Maple Leaf.

Shinkaruk in my eyes is pretty close to a lock, and he was before my favourite team drafted him.

A scoring champion checker? The competition is wide open. Obviously it will depend on how each player performs in the first half of the season. Not lacking in options though which makes for plenty of competition at camp...

Yeah, Leipsic scored 120 on a line with 2 other highly touted prospects, Shinkaruk was hovering around 90 with no namers on his line.

It will definitely be a competitive camp for sure, as always, I just think Hunter is a more polished offensive player.

Shinkaruk's offensive game is more of a pure goal scorer, as he regularly beats goalies from mid range (plus exceptional breakaway finish) than Petan (hard to say that when Nic scored 46 goals last year), where as Petan possesses remarkable puck distribution tools (what stands out to me is how he consistently attacks defenders and always found Rattie or Leipsic in such tight spaces).

So I guess when we're talking about offensive guys, it's important to know they, in my estimation, carry a different set of tools

Mantha maybe. He'd definitely make it over Reinhart and Petan.

He's a better goal scorer, and I agree Petan is known more for his playmaking, but I definitely wouldn't call Hunter a pure sniper, he can dish it...ask Etem and his 50 goals 2 years back. I'd say Hunter has excellent offensive vision, and also has an exceptional release.
