That's about it. I'm not expecting anything. Actually, that camp is probably just a window for their ECHL career. Not sure if our ECHL coach will be there, but they could be serviceable. Don't expect anything else. At least, I'll reconsider after this week's camp.

At the very least, gives Mr. Crisp some sparring partners.

And who's better? Cadorette or Guindon?

Pretty even in my books. But I'll concentrate on them as much as I can and will give you my report as far as their technical aspect of the game. Mind you, I ain't no specialist, and mostly not a goalie specialist.

Jean-Sebastien Dea really needs to hit the gym... I feel for him though, he's pretty disappointed he didn't get drafted

Are those players almost like goons ?

Jimmy Oligny will be one of the best d-men in the Q next season. He is more than a goon. He is probably the best Q d-man with the 1-on-1. He is very tough, sometimes crazy on the ice, but he is a good hockey player too. Jonathan Oligny isn't very good though. But I can understand that it may be difficult to watch Q games, even more in the maritimes.

You are in exageration mode but hey it's okay, I'm also pretty biased when it comes to Q players, so I understand. Note that a goon player in the CHL will mostly also know how to play hockey. Yet, I'm not expecting anything as far as they are concerned, they won't be offered a contract or anything else. But that's how I see it now....I'll go at the dev. camp and see from there how they developed. My point stands....I don't see any NHL future for any of them. At best a ECHL future with possible AHL callups. Hey, that's fine. We need those players too. So we'll see and I'll re-address my point of view on whoever is there during and after the camp.

Nothing exceptional except the guy just finds the back of the net. Constantly. EXTREMELY opportunistic, but does create his chances. Great at finding the opening, just a very very good natural scorer.

Why he wasn't picked then? 'Cause most will believe that he will just be that.....a very good JUNIOR natural goal scorer. That because he doesn't have any other special trait, that he won't make it. Not big, not really fast, not incredibly physical, not your best defensive forward....the guy just....scores. Remains to be seen till which level he will be able to do it. The day he can't will be the end of his career. Yet....I just love the guy. And hope for the best for him.
So he's Corey Locke?

Wow, when was the last time so many intriguing invitees actually accepted/got invtited to Habs development camp. My my memory is failing me but usually there's not many invitees.

Matthew Boudens (Drummondville) has also been added to the roster of the development camp. http://www.rds.ca/hockey/canadiens/huit-invités-au-camp-du-ch-1.637277

Boudens is a nice middleweight who's coming along as a player.

Add Oligny. Still not sure if it's Jonathan or Jimmy. Strange that Ciampini wasn't invited...

Must be Jimmy, much better than his brother, plays a lot like Robidas, bigger than his size.

Jean-Sebastien Dea really needs to hit the gym... I feel for him though, he's pretty disappointed he didn't get drafted

It's easier to add 25-30lbs than to teach a guy how to score.

Bigger. And I'd say he's faster than him too. And I always envision Locke to be mostly a passer when Trainor is mostly a shooter.
Alright..correction...are we sorta hoping he works out a bit like Reid Boucher has? A guy I like to compare to Ryder.

Jimmy is indeed better. I have to be honest and say that I didn't see him that much over his junior career so far. I will clearly look at him during the camp and try to see what he is really about as much as I can see in a camp.

One other thing I can't wait to see...I think I'm heading there just for that reason....Will Dustin Walsh be present? I mean, he's still our property till August 15th...will it be the camp of the last chance? Or did we already mentioned him he was no longer in our plans....I mean come on people...ANSWER ME!!!!!!!!! :D

Really great invitiation list. Trainor...of course....great invitation...:D Dea choosing our camp instead of the Pens....that's great, Murphy, both goalies in Cadorette and Guindon, Brouillard deserves an invitation too. Add McAuley and Duffy and Desjardins...surely the strongest invitation Q list in a while....Would love to see others from the rest of the world......so we'll see.

So my professionnal situation will see me be at the camp pretty often this week. Not sure I'll be there every day but we'll see. I'll have my reports immediately when I come back from it as I don't have the net on my phone.....

Dude you ROCK! Can't wait!

Exageration mode ? No. I'm not saying that he will be a Norris player. But to say he is only a goon is incorrect, really. A lot of people around the Q (I mean, on sereval boards (less in french because they only talk about Québec, Sherbrooke, Gatineau and Blainville)) are saying that Jimmy is going to be one of the best d-man in the league next season. I don't even think that he will play in the NHL as a regular. I think he can become, at best, a captain in the AHL, a little bit like Alex Henry. Jimmy is very solid defensively, sometimes too much agressive, but solid positionally. He is not that great with the puck, good first pass, good shot, but nothing spectacular. IMO, he is mainly a defensive d-man with average offensive skills.
