Mike Cammalleri with John Doe and Joe Schmo? Buckle up boys, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

I don't know what you were expecting. Trade away our youth for first-line players?

Better to actually play our young guys. If we're going to be successful, it's going to be from them, not from some rental players who sign up just so they can be traded to a contender at the deadline.

I wouldn't. Do the Flames have any other bonafide RW'ers and right hand shots?

(in regards to stempniak)

Does it matter?

We're going to be terrible, and chances are stempniak wont look as good as he did last year.
As much as I like stempniak it makes more sense to trade him while he has value and see what the younger guys can do.

Please stop pencilling in Monahan for a roster spot. There is no reason he should be here at all. He is our best prospect in quite a while and rushing him is stupid. Let him play another year in the CHL, improve his offensive game on a better Ottawa team, and develop properly. We should avoid being the Oilers and throw every 18 year old into the line up. Have some patience and rebuild right.

Exactly superhakan. But I think Doubledion is right. The Flames will do it the wrong way.

Also if Corban Knight makes the Flames it better be because he won the job in camp. Recruiting players by telling them they will get NHL ice time no matter what is Young Guns part 2. And we all know how part 1 turned out.

Cory Stillman was a two-time Stanley Cup champion and carved out a pretty solid NHL career.

Derek Morris was a highly touted defenceman at the time and has had a decent career.

Val Bure also had a decent career, his best years came in a Flames sweater.

Todd Simpson and Jason Wiemer were heart-and-soul guys, but were average players.

IMO The Flames need at least 2 defenseman and 3 more forwards signed to AHL deals to play when there are the inevitable injuries.

I like the lineups (well not exactly like but I'm sure you all understand) but two things: Shouldn't we give Cundari a top 4 spot and I thought the Baertschi-Backlund-Cammalleri didn't do too well last year. I actually like our third line though, seems like it can score some goals to a certain extent.

Cundari has 4 NHL games, giving him a top 4 role would be extremely irresponsible. As for the the Baertschi line, I don't believe they played much together at all, between the injuries to Backlund and Baertchi, combined with Cammalleri being a centerman most of the year, there was little opportunity to give them regular time together.

Assuming we sign no other center, these are my new combo's assuming Monahan doesn't make the team.

Glencross Cammy Hudler
Baertschi Backlund Jones
Galiardi Stajan Stempniak
Bouma Knight Jackman/McGratton

Brodie Wideman
Gio Butler
Russell Cundari/SOB/Breen

Pretty balanced all through and through.

True true, when did Brodie start getting top 4 minutes last season?

I'll give this a go - signing RFA players to, ummm healthy raises where required.

What he's asking (as well as I) is do you have a point? Or are you just trolling?

I was posting the lineup I want to see. A winning lineup.
I think I speak for everyone when I say making Tim Jackman the captain is the first step to turning this thing around.

You're aware we're talking about an NHL lineup, right? Not AHL. Obvious troll is obvious.

My sarcasm detector must be broken, because that's the dumbest line up I've ever seen. Hell, might as well make monahan our captain and 1C while we're at it.
