I liked how Button was talking about his lack of creativity in the offensive zone while he was dangling on the goalline and going top titty with no angle on the highlight package. ****ing moron.

I have to admit, with how some of the NCAA guys have gone in recent years, that concern is in the back of my mind. Not going to detract from my elation over the pick tonight, but it's always a bit of a concern.
I understand but there's no sure success for Strome, Marner too. I like the pick.

Isn't that only for certain birthdays they go to UFA?

He could go straight to the AHL next year couldn't he?

I was close to tears.

Hanifin-Faulk will be one of the best pairings in the league for a long time. I can't express how happy that makes me.

The most interesting part is that they could be the first pairing for USA team in 2018. Suter- Jones and McDonagh with someone else.

Lets not go crazy. They will almost assuredly be the top pairing in the 2016 world championships though.

On the surface this seems so positive, and then the implications set in.

Director of NHL Central Scouting Dan Marr:
“Everybody looks at him and says he’s a gifted offensive player, and he is, but what makes him so special is his transition game. He ‘gets it’ – that you have to play defense first and the offense will follow.”

Very happy with pick. RF took best player available. Are we looking at this in a few years:

Hanafin/Faulk
Fleury/Murphy
McKeown/Pesce

So the Canes, who don't draft defensemen with their first round pick, have chosen 3 defensemen in their last 4 1st round picks. Murphy, Lindholm, Fleury, and Hanifin.

Hanifin wears #2, #3 or #55. Who was last hurricanes with #55, Prmeau?

Like what I am hearing from Francis.

Francis: "With our kids, we don't want to rush them. If we could buy them a year or two and it makes sense for us we'd be open to doing it."
