if only we had a clutch, experienced, physical, well-liked D-man who can log 25 minutes a night in Chara's absence

Even if he's not out for extended time, his absence will still be a hit on the team morale.

Let's hope it's not something serious.

Indeed. Would be great if he had a bomb of a shot, too. Too bad there's nobody like that out there.

I've watched the video, and man, if it's any kind of tear, then Chara's an absolute ROCK. Hypothesis is it was the big hit on Tavares, and they zoom in pretty close on his face, and he shows no fear, anger, or pain.

Chara is Ivan Drago.

@TSNAaronWard: Bruins Zdeno Chara suspected left knee ligament injury.Expected out 4-6 weeks at which time they'll evaluate need for surgery or not. #TSN

I'm gonna sit here and hope he's wrong.

If Chara is out long term, I've heard rumours that the Bruins may be interested in Tyler Myers. Add that in with their supposed interest in Chris Stewart to fill the 1st line RW, any chance of a package deal for both players? Something like Spooner/Koko + both 2nd rounders next year or something?

Just speculating, not for or against either player.

This changes ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the Boychuk trade. If Chara's out for the season, they're done regardless, if it's only 4-6 weeks, this teams still gonna make the playoffs, no problem and he'll be better rested

Taking the Ward stuff with a grain of salt. His Iggy to Boston stuff is legendary.

The season isn't over and the Bruins can overcome this.

At least all the trade Chara people are going to see exactly what they're asking for.

you're right. It changes nothing about the Boychuk trade. When the trade was made everyone was talking about how stupid it was. Coming off a season in which we lost our number 2 D for the season to a knee injury, everyone and their mother knew it was dumb to trade Boychuk because that sort of thing can happen in the blink of an eye. So yes, this doesn't change anything. It was dumb when he made the trade and is dumb now. But the Chara injury just proves that it was dumb.
