I highly doubt they'd make a trade for a player like Ho-Sang if what the team is striving for is character.
I think applying reason to anything this team does these days is dangerous.

Melynk wants us to think otherwise shhhNo we aren't. MacArthur and Gaborik are 80% covered by insurance.
I just did the math, we're spending $4.3 on those 4 players this season.
I think it's 30 days or 10 games but even then I doubt a team would pick him up and then bury his salary. Teams already know what Smith brings to the table.Him being placed on waivers means he doesnt have to clear them again this season, which gives the team getting him more flexability ...Should they want to remove his contract at any time
It does ,having already cleared waivers They can have nhl ready depth in the minors, that they can move up and down without penality...While they shed cap space from their active roster...as we likely take a cap dump to move himWhat are you talking about? This response has nothing to do with the flexability (sp) you posted about earlier.
Me either ,but its an option for them...Not all teams operate with money always being an issue like we doI think it's 30 days or 10 games but even then I doubt a team would pick him up and then bury his salary. Teams already know what Smith brings to the table.

I hope the people who are up in arms about this quote aren't the same people who have been pleading to get rid of Smith all these years.Matt Duchene "It's a kick in the balls for us in this locker room"
Uh no this is Melnyk and money driven. He isnt a great player but he is alot better than the McCormicks of the world. This one is on Murray
His contract isnt THAT bad. Not sure what people expect
