Spanking the big teams bodes well for the playoffs. Losing to insignificant teams in the reg season means nothing. It used to be the opposite and hence why the Caps never win in the post season.

They have owned nearly all the top contenders this season and even if not picking up 2 points they've outplayed them. I'll take that over losing to the Flyer any day.
